John Ventimiglia’s wife Belinda Cape took to Facebook last weekend to reveal the news that their daughter Odele Cape had passed away at the young age of 25. The Facebook post also revealed that Odele’s funeral took place yesterday.
Heartbroken to have to post our darling Odele’s funeral notice. Her sister Lucinda and I have been overwhelmed by the messages of support and love we have received, and your remembrances of how cherished Odele was to so many. Odele was greatly loved, and leaves a huge hole in our lives.
Her confirmation of her daughter’s death included a beautiful photo of Odele:
John Ventimiglia’s daughter Odele’s cause of death has not been made public as of yet. Likewise, People Magazine reports that representatives for the actor’s family have not responded to media requests for a statement on Odele’s passing.

Tragically, John Ventimiglia’s daughter Odele’s death comes just three months after she welcomed her daughter, Shiloh, into the world. In her post, Odele’s mother notes that instead of receiving flowers for their daughter they are asking for monetary donations to support her three-month-old daughter who is now without her mother. She penned before including the link to the Go Fund Me campaign: “In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made for Shiloh’s future education costs.”
In just four days, the Go Fund Me campaign has exceeded the goal of 50K netting $57K for baby Shiloh.
In response to her post announcing Odele’s death, fans and loved ones poured into the comments with nothing but love for John Ventimiglia and his family during this difficult time.
