TLC Fans Livid Over Morbidly Obese Tammy Slaton Exploitation
TLC fans are furious over morbidly obese Tammy Slaton’s exploitation on 1000-Lb. Sisters after Season 4 premiered on January 17, 2023. Although the show is primarily about the sisters’ weight loss journey, it also showcases their mental health struggles as they achieve their weight loss goals. TLC’s 1000-Lb. Sisters Show Has Lost Its Plot
1000-Lb. Sisters started as a show that documented Tammy and Amy Slaton’s weight loss to become healthier and be eligible for surgery. Now that the show is in its fourth season, fans feel the series has totally lost its plot. After the Season 4 premiere episode aired, fans called out the channel for milking the TLC stars. While Amy has managed to lose a lot of weight since fans first saw her in Season 1, Tammy Slaton has hardly managed to tip the scales in her favor.

While Amy did lose weight, fans feel she is going up on the scales and evidently ignoring her doctor’s recommendations. She was warned by Dr. Proctor to not get pregnant for at least two years to be successful in her weight loss journey. However, she became pregnant with Gage and now she welcomed her second son Glenn has caused her to regain her lost weight.
Tammy Slaton & Amy Halterman Faking Weight Loss
As per Meaww, during her confessional on the show, Tammy was seen trying to adjust herself in order to fit into the chair. Seeing that she really hasn’t lost any weight on the show, fans wonder if TLC is faking that the show is about their weight loss. Many fans even claimed that the sisters lied to TLC to get a show and make some cash. They are never seen making believable efforts actually follow a healthy lifestyle.

1000-Lb. Sisters’ fans also called out TLC for cashing in on another one of Amy’s health issues. For the unversed, Amy suffers from a lifelong problem that she has had with her eyes. Known as Toxoplasmosis, the health issue has caused her to become legally blind. In an earlier episode of TLC, Amy explained that she can hardly see from her left eye and can only partially see with the right one.
Fans Claim TLC Exploits Morbidly Obese People
Furious fans took to Twitter to share their opinion on TLC’s evident exploitation. One wrote, “Whyyyy does @TLC exploit these morbidly obese people, it’s sad and disturbing #1000lbSisters.”
Another questioned, “So did the Slaton sisters just tell TLC they wanted to lose weight to get their show? #1000lbSisters.”
