ABC was even reportedly looked to the Today Show to poach some of their own television personalities. TJ and Amy cited race as the reason for their firing.

According to a new report via Page Six, DeMarco Morgan could replace TJ Holmes. A series of guest hosts appeared on GMA3 to fill in for the former co-anchors. He may not just be a temporary guest host on the morning show. Insiders close to the production said that he’s a shoo-in to replace TJ.

ABC could fire TJ and Amy early as soon as Monday morning. DeMarco “loves the job he’s doing” and “everyone thinks he’s been really great.” He was recently spotted with ABC News talent and a GMA3 executive producer Cat Mackenzie at a restaurant in New York City. The group praised DeMarco and were “congratulating and telling him ‘nice job.'”

Even CBS Morning’s Gayle King supported DeMarco at the event. She was there to celebrate his new role. DeMarco was happy about becoming TJ Holmes’ replacement. This is interesting considering Gayle called TJ and Amy messy during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.

In the meantime, ratings for GMA have been good. While DeMarco and Rhiannon Ally don’t have the same chemistry as TJ Holmes and Amy Robach, they still have that personal appeal with fans. However, one ABC insider claims that “no one knows” what could happen with Amy and TJ.
