Some of the biggest and most nefarious players in both Survivor and Big Brother history are back. They are once again competing in a game of strategy and betrayal for a large cash prize. Only this time, they’re not playing Survivor and they are not playing Big Brother. This game is called The Traitors, and it may be the next spicy reality TV hit show.
Treacherous Returns
The cast of The Traitors is full of familiar faces, from reality TV and otherwise. From Survivor, we have Cirie Fields and Stephenie LaGrossa. Two of the most popular and cunning non-winners that the game has ever seen. From Big Brother, we have Cody Calafiore and Rachel Reilly. The winners of Season 22 and Season 13, respectively. There are even more reality TV stars in the cast as well. Arie Luyendyk from The Bachelor, Brandi Glanville from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and Kate Chastain from Below Deck, to name a few.
On top of that, the show is hosted by Alan Cumming, a major star from TV and film like The Good Wife, X2, and GoldenEye.
The idea behind The Traitors is that it is a game of betrayal taking place in a strange castle in the Scottish highlands. 20 people are competing for an ever-growing cash pot. The only problem is, 3 of those 20 people are traitors. The traitors are trying to sneak into the end of the game to take the entire cash prize for themselves. And everyone else is trying to take the unknown traitors out to keep their cash, and themselves, alive. With so many devious reality TV players like Cirie and Rachel, this concept can go incredibly far.
The Traitors
The Traitors has been a popular show from around the world since long before it came to the USA. The show has already been making the rounds for popular iterations in the United Kingdom, Australia, and The Netherlands. The concept seems to be spreading around the world like wildfire and is a big hit everywhere it goes. The first season of the American syndication just came out on Peacock on January 12th. It’s too soon to tell yet if the show will be as big of a success here as it’s been overseas. But the great cast lineup and intriguing concept already has many reality competition fans eager to watch what’s in store. Hopefully, the show is a major success and we see it come back for more.
