Deborah Roberts‘ Sweet Al Roker Is ‘Slowly Getting His Life Back’
Deborah Roberts has revealed details of how her sweet Al Roker is slowly getting his life back on track. The Today weatherman was in and out of the hospital in a month-long health struggle. He has now recovered from blood clots in his legs and lungs. Upon his return to the morning show on Friday, he was greeted by his colleagues Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb at NBC’s Studio 1A. Today Show Staff Gets Emotional At Al Roker’s Return
Roker stepped off the elevator, an excited Hoda Kotb shouted, “Yes!” as Guthrie added, “You are home!” As the show started, Guthrie detailed how it was a really special Friday morning for the hosts and the crew as well. Holding back her tears, she said, “I’m sorry but the tears are already flowing. Al Roker is back! … To say we have missed you doesn’t begin even describe it. It is nothing without you here.”

Hoda Kotb also detailed how the crew was weepy every day that passed by without Al Roker on the set and so was the crowd outside. She said, “The crowd outside has been bummed every day we’ve walked out there. Without him, they’re like, ‘where is Al?’”
Al Roker Suffered COVID Complications With Mysterious Bleeding
In a later segment, Al Roker and Deborah Roberts discussed the details of the weathercaster’s health struggles. The couple revealed that Al suffered stomach pain but it soon escalated. Among several issues, he also had blood clots in his lungs. The doctors suspected that this was a complication from his COVID diagnosis that happened back in September.

It was coupled with a mysterious internal bleeding that necessitated surgery which was revealed to have stemmed from two bleeding ulcers. Additionally, he also underwent colon resection surgery to remove a part of his colon and gallbladder.

A proud wife, Deborah Roberts, took to Instagram and shared how Al Roker is getting back his life. She wrote, “Friday finish! After a grueling and frightening health journey, my sweet @alroker is back at work and slowly getting back to his life thanks to a brilliant medical team and the uplifting thoughts and prayers of so many of you. My family has learned the power of love, patience, and faith. Our gratitude is beyond measure. Morning show competition took a breather today as I visited him on set.”
