‘Today’ Colleagues Forget Savannah Guthrie’s Big Day?

Savannah Guthrie is currently on an extended hiatus. She recently celebrated her 51st birthday. However, her Today Show colleagues seemingly forgot about it. The co-anchor received birthday shout-outs from her fans and followers on Instagram. Yet, some of her closest colleagues didn’t say anything about it. Keep on reading to learn more.

Did her Today Show colleagues snub her?

On Tuesday, December 27, Savannah Guthrie shared an Instagram clip of the many things she’s done around the holidays as well as her birthday. The Today Show co-host called it “the loveliest day.” She also thanked those who gave her “so many sweet birthday wishes.” Many of her fans and followers took to the comment section to wish her a happy birthday.

Interestingly enough, Savannah Guthrie didn’t receive birthday wishes from Carson Daly, Craig Melvin, and Sheinelle Jones. Al Roker also didn’t pop up in the comment section. His wife Deborah Roberts did write: “Happy birthday! My big-hearted friend!”

Savannah’s co-host Hoda Kotb also sent her some love. She wrote on her own Instagram feed: “Today we celebrate you, Savannah Guthrie. Well… today and every day. Happy birthday, darlin!”

Hoda shared a throwback photo of the two smiling at the camera on September 3, 2019. In the image, Savannah wore a red dress while Hoda wore a bright blue dress. Savannah also revealed that she received a birthday card from Hoda, which read: “I love us!” This comes amid the new rumors that the two are at odds on the set of the morning show.

Sending Savannah Guthrie warm wishes on-air

Even though many of Savannah Guthrie’s co-hosts didn’t celebrate her birthday on social media, some of them shared warm wishes on-air. Dylan Dreyer and other fill-in hosts sent her a message on Tuesday’s live broadcast of the Today Show. Dylan was joined by Kristen Welker, Jacob Soboroff, and Peter Alexander.

They gathered outside the Today Show headquarters to help celebrate her “special day.” The co-hosts shared that it was Savannah Guthrie’s birthday and she was spending quality time with her family. The crew looked directly into the camera and shared their birthday wishes with the host. Many of the regular Today co-hosts are off this week.

Many of NBC’s television personalities had to fill in as guest hosts. This type of year is busy for the main co-anchors. It also gives fans a shakeup as they get used to the regulars. They will return in the first week of the New Year.
