Pelé Is Currently Receiving Treatment For Kidney & Cardiac Issues
On Wednesday, Pelé’s doctors at the Albert Einstein Hospital Sao Paulo confirmed that his health has significantly declined during his stay at the hospital to regulate his cancer. The healthcare officials also added that the sports legend’s cancer is at the advanced stage. As reported by TMZ, he is currently under elevated care catering to his kidney and cardiac dysfunctions.
However, the hospital didn’t provide any details of Pelé’s recent respiratory infection that was aggravated by COVID-19. Kely Nascimento, Pelé’s daughter, confirmed that her father will stay in the hospital during Christmas given his deteriorating condition. The 55-year-old took to Instagram to provide an update on her father’s health. She wrote “We decided with doctors that, for many reasons, it will be best for us to stay here, with all the care that this new family at Einstein gives us. We will even make some caipirinhas (no kidding). We love you and we will give up an update next week.”
Pelé Is Hospitalized For A Chemotherapy Reassessment
An update from the medical staff read that the former professional footballer has been hospitalized since November 29, 2022, for a chemotherapy reassessment. This saddening news comes after recent reports claimed that the Guinness World Record holder has been improving.
A previous report regarding his respiratory infection claimed that the patient continued to show improvement in clinical status. He was in a regular room, conscious, and showed stable vital signs. There were also rumors doing the rounds that Pelé’s chemotherapy is not working and that the doctors have decided to put him on palliative care. However, the sportsperson’s family denied these claims.
Pelé Congratulates Lionel Messi & Argentina For World Cup 2022
Pelé is dubbed one of Brazil’s greatest players ever. He also tweeted recently that he would be watching his country’s campaign at the Qatar World Cup 2022. The player became a global name as a 17-year-old at the 1958 World Cup. He aided Brazil in bagging the first of their 5 record successes. Apart from the 1958 World Cup, Pelé also got the team their 1962 and 1970 World Cups.
The former footballer rooted for Brazil’s current star players including Neymar Jr. and addressed Brazil’s eliminations on Instagram as well. He also watched the tournament’s finale from the hospital and congratulated Argentina and Lionel Messi on their big win against France.
We hope Pelé gets well soon and is back to his family in good health!
