Randy Jackson is about to make his return to Name That Tune. While American Idol is currently working on its next season, which will premiere in February 2023, some fans are wondering where the OG judges are at now.

Name That Tune is a reboot of a classic game show where people compete to guess the song playing before their competition. It is all about knowing the first notes of popular songs from every genre well enough to name the song and artist in a matter of seconds. The original series aired from 1952 to 1959 on the radio, and from 1974 to 1985 on television.

Randy Jackson joined the show when it rebooted in 2021 as the bandleader. Jane Krakowski served as the host. The show will return in just a few short weeks with Randy Jackson back once again. The best news for fans of reality television is that the third season will consist of all celebrities competing on the show (Season 2 had half of the episodes with celebs). This new season premieres on January 11, 2023.

Randy Jackson seems excited about this as he already has a post on his Instagram account asking if everyone is excited, adding the premiere date for the new season.

Who will appear on Name That Tune Season 3?

The list of celebrities appearing on Name That Tune Season 3 with Randy Jackson just hit and it is impressive. First up, the winner of the most recent season of The Masked Singer will show up on the show. That is Amber Riley, who broke out on the musical hit series Glee. She also has a nice career on Broadway to her name, and that will help her in a lot of areas of music. However, her competition is fierce. Riley will compete directly against her former Glee co-star Chris Colfer.

Todrick Hall, who was on The Masked Singer in Season 6 and was also a Celebrity Big Brother contestant will go one-on-one with basketball legend Sheryl Swoopes. There will also be a professional wrestler who moonlights as a rock star. Chris Jericho, who competes for AEW and is also the lead singer of Fozzy, will follow up his recent Masked Singer appearance with Name That Tune. He will compete against Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon, who was also on Dancing with the Stars.

Another Olympian is figure skater Tara Lipinski will compete against The Masked Singer Season 2 competitor Johnny Weir, who was also on Dancing With the Stars Season 29. There will also be a battle between American Idol singers, as Season 6 winner Jordin Sparks battles Season 2 runner-up Clay Aiken. Other celebs involved include Craig Ferguson vs. Jack McBrayer, Tisha Campbell vs. Elizabeth Berkley Lauren, Tyron Woodley vs. Tiki Barber, Andy Richter vs. Holly Robinson Peete, and Michael Ian Black vs. Melissa Peterman.
