‘Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet’: June Blair Dead At 90
Film and television actress June Blair is dead at 90. Her niece Tracy Kristine Nelson confirmed that the Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet star passed away after posting a tribute to her late aunt on Facebook. Here is a look at everything the 90-year-old actress accomplished during her years in the spotlight.
June Blair Is Dead At 90, Niece Confirms
Tracy Kristine Nelson, who has taken acting herself, posted to Facebook remembering her sweet aunt. She wrote, “Sweet, gorgeous Aunt June Blair Nelson has passed away. God bless James and Dan, I love you.” Her words were accompanied by an old headshot of her aunt.
June Blair died on Monday in Sherman Oaks, a neighborhood in Los Angeles.
In the comments, Nelson shared more details about June Blair’s career. Prior to appearing in Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet, Blair was a “bombshell,” according to her niece. Tracy Nelson took to the comments to share a snapshot of her aunt, who was apparently a Playboy Bunny before joining the family-friendly show.
According to Tracy, “Ozzie’s pr machine was pretty quiet about it, but she was an actress, model, and Playboy Bunny before she joined the show. This is Playboy, 1957.”
Forever Mrs. June Nelson
June did not have an easy life growing up. She was abandoned by her parents as a child and grew up as a ward of the state of California. Her luck eventually changed though.
In 1956, she made her debut on television in Our Miss Brooks on CBS. Prior to working on Ozzie & Harriet, she had a number of other credits to her name outside of Playboy magazine as well. June was in movies such as The Rabbit Trap, Hell Bound, and The Island of Lost Women.
However, it is true that most people would recognize June Blair from her role in Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet where she played the wife of her actual husband in real life, David Nelson. She and David met on the set of the movie Two Faces West and got married in 1961. Like many relationships in Hollywood though, it did not last.
The pair divorced in 1975, though many people would remember her as Mrs. June Nelson forever. After all, it was the last role she played on screen.

She first appeared on the show as several other characters before being introduced to the viewers as Mrs. June Nelson. Throughout the show’s run, she was featured in 28 episodes and remained a part of the series until it came to an end in 1966. June did not take on any additional acting work after that.
June Blair is survived by her sons, Daniel and James, and granddaughter, Paige, as well as countless fans, friends, and extended family. She will be missed.
