The Bringing Up Bates star reflects on a sad anniversary.

On Instagram this weekend, Whitney Bates reflected on the death of her father. She shared an Instagram Reel, which featured clips from her dad’s funeral. It has now been a year since he passed away. In her post, she thanked Carlin Bates’ husband Evan Stewart for recording these moments for her.

She penned an emotional tribute, revealing just how much she misses her father. She said:

“365 days since my Daddy went to be with Jesus and our lives down here were forever changed. Today almost feels even worse than the day we lost him. I can still feel how cold that hospital was, how hopeless if felt when those nurses called code blue and we heard and watched his heart beat on the monitor stop… holding on to him with all the love in the world as he passed on to be with the Lord.”

Though she is grateful that her dad is in heaven, Whitney Bates acknowledged that “today hurts.”
