Who Won ‘The Masked Singer’ Season 8?
The Masked Singer had its Season 8 finale on Wednesday night and unmasked its latest winner. The last episode saw Harp battle Lambs in a rare moment where only two singers competed on the last night. In the end, both Lambs and Harp were huge names in the music world and turned in a great finale for the season.
Here is a look at who won and who unmasked in The Masked Singer’s Season 8 finale.
Who won The Masked Singer this season?
In The Masked Singer Season 8 finale, the trio of Lambs battled the powerhouse, Harp. The night started out with Harp singing “The Edge of Glory” by Lady Gaga while Lambs sang “I’m Every Woman” by Chaka Khan. The second songs sung by the finalists included Harp singing “Gravity” by John Mayer and Lambs singing “I Want to Know What Love Is” by Foreigner.
When it came to a winner, both deserved it, but only one could win. Harp won it all and Lambs went home as the runners-up. When Harp was unmasked as the winner, it was former Glee star, Amber Riley. The SAG Award-winning actress unmasked and took home the Golden Mask Trophy.
Nicole Scherzinger called Amber one of the best ever to take The Masked Singer stage. “This has been such an amazing experience just to be able to come out here and be completely covered and let my talent speak for itself,” Riley said after she took off her mask. She then said that people should go after whatever they want in life, no matter how hard that journey is.
Who was unmasked as Lambs?
For Lambs, both Robin Thicke and Nicole Scherzinger got their guesses right with Wilson Phillips. Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg guessed The Chicks and Ken Jeong thought it was the Kardashian sisters. While the award-winning pop stars didn’t take home the big prize, they still said they felt like winners.
“It’s just hard to compare the two.” Carnie Wilson told People after the show. “It’s very, very different styles of singing. There was that part of me, personally, where I was like, “Oh God, I really hope we win.” And I really thought we had the chance, but it was like we did win. It felt like we still won.”
Her sister Wendy agreed, but also added that Amber Riley really deserved to win the competition. She said they were all proud of her and were honored to sing next to her on The Masked Singer stage. Wilson Phillips made history as the first group ever to make it to the finale.
