Andor Season 2 Is Currently Under Production
Andor premiered on Disney+ on September 21, 2022, with three episodes that dropped on the premiere date itself. After this, new episodes dropped weekly every Wednesday. The series received critical acclaim and was also praised for its directing, writing, and performances. The prequel series also flaunts a darker and more mature tone as compared to other Star Wars projects. The finale episode for Season 1 premiered on November 23 and now a second season is currently being filmed in London.

Season 2 will conclude the series and lead into the events that happened in the Rogue One movie. The series happens five years before the 2016 movie and follows an ensemble cast during the time that a Rebel Alliance is forming in opposition to the Galactic Empire. One among these characters is Cassian Andor. He is a thief who becomes a revolutionary and eventually joins the Rebellion.
Andor Is Way Behind Other Star Wars TV Releases
Demand for the Star Wars spinoff series rose by 7% this week marking 37.7 times the average demand. On the other hand, the highest demand for House Of The Dragon came in at 33.9K. These numbers were put together by Parrot Analytics’ data that takes into account several factors. This includes streaming, consumer research, social media, downloads, and other forms of audience engagement.

Although topping the chart is great news for Disney+ and the Star Wars franchise, there are other contextual factors that must be kept in mind as well. House Of The Dragon Season 1 wrapped up on October 23. So, the series has been holding the top spot for a long time. Moreover, the data also suggests that Andor is way behind previous Star Wars TV releases like The Book Of Boba Fett, Obi-Wan, and The Mandalorian.
Star Wars Prequel Outranks Chainsaw Man Anime
That being said, with House Of The Dragon being an exception, the demand for Andor has outpaced the next-highest entries in the list. The Star Wars prequel successfully dethroned:
- Interview With The Vampire (AMC, 27.7K)
- The Peripheral (Amazon, 25.4K)
- Chainsaw Man (Crunchyroll, 24.5K)

Although Andor’s popularity spiked very slowly, it had been a steady one. After the increase in demand, Disney decided to air the show over Thanksgiving on major platforms including Hulu, FX, and FreeForm.
