As per The New York Times, Steve Banerjee founded Chippendales, a club that featured an all-male striptease revue located in Los Angeles in 1979. With his club gaining popularity, the founder made millions. However, in 1987, after a business dispute, he hired a man to kill Nick De Noia (played by Murray Bartlett) the revue’s choreographer. Not just that, Banerjee even planned the murder of his other colleagues. However, those hits were unsuccessful. After pleading guilty to racketeering, murder-for-hire, and attempted arson, Banerjee hanged himself in his cell a day prior to his 1994 sentencing.
Kumar Nanjiani Spent A Decade Starring In Small Roles
Nanjiani spent the first decade of his career starring in small supporting roles verging on Indian stereotypes. He explained, “In the beginning, when I was auditioning, it genuinely was taxi drivers, people working at 7-Eleven, Dunkin’ Donuts, and Subway. Either we’re nerds, or we’re planning to blow something up.”
