John Stamos Defends Lori Loughlin’s Return To Acting After Prison
John Stamos was on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast this week. The actor had a little to say about his former Full House co-star, Lori Loughlin. While he has avoided a lot of the controversy in the past, Stamos was a little more open in this discussion.
Here is what Stamos said about Lori Loughlin and his thoughts on her return to acting.
John Stamos comments on Lori Loughlin’s return
John Stamos and Dax Shepard were talking about a series of topics and the conversation rolled around to Lori Loughlin. Stamos said that when the College Admissions Scandal hit the news, he didn’t want to comment on it. He wanted to wait until the trial because it made no sense to him. Now, he has something to say about Lori and her standing in Hollywood.
He prefaced this by saying he knows that no matter what he does, people will criticize him. If he defends her, people will get mad. If he doesn’t, he will feel bad because she is a “great person.” Stamos then gave his true feelings. He told Dax that Lori paid “a lot of money” and even set up a college fund to help others. She even “went to f***ing jail, man.” John then defended Lori by saying she wasn’t the architect, and he didn’t believe she knew everything that was going on.
The one problem that many people have is that Lori and her daughters staged fake rowing photos for the scholarship. Lori pleaded guilty to paying $500,000 to USC to get her two daughters accepted on fake rowing scholarships. She ended up spending two months in prison and got out in 2020. She also completed 100 community service hours and privately paid more than $500,000 to put two students through college.
Lori Loughlin’s future commitments
The College Admissions Scandal gained life thanks to a Netflix documentary chronicling the crimes. This made things hard when Lori’s daughter Olivia Jade joined Dancing with the Stars. However, over the season, fans came around to support her. Now, it is time for Lori to regain her career again.
Last year, she was on GAC for the When Calls the Heart spin-off, When Hope Calls. Early in 2022, Lori Loughlin signed a deal to return to TV movies for the Great American Family network. This will give her a chance to regain the career that she once held as America’s sweetheart. She had an in for the new network thanks to former Full House co-star Candace Cameron Bure, who is the CFO of the network.
