‘Love Island’ Gemma Owen And Luca Bish OVER
Love Island UK fans may be shocked to find out one of the final four couples on the show has officially called it quits. It seems that Gemma Owen and Luca Bish have officially split.
Love Island couple breaks up
It’s a sad day for lovers of Love Island UK. Luca Bish and Gemma Owen have broken up. It’s been three months since the pair walked away runners up of the show. Apparently, they just couldn’t make it outside of the villa. Gemma took to Instagram to make the announcement.
“To all my followers,” Gemma starts the heartfelt Instagram story.
“I wanted to let you know that Luca and I are no longer in a relationship. It wasn’t an easy decision but ultimately this is what is best for both of us right now.”
She continues by saying, “Many of you have been on this journey with us from the very beginning, and I want to thank you for your continued support as we start new chapters.”
Of course, she signs off by saying “Love always, Gem x.”
There was already some question as to if they were still together as they have been posting a part as of late. When they first left the villa, it seemed that they were together all the time. However, even now, Luca is in London for the TV Choice Awards without Gemma.
It appears that since the split, Gemma has wiped her ex-lover from her Instagram entirely. Meanwhile, Luca still has all of his posts up with Gemma and has not yet shared his side of the split. In fact, his last post was November 6 and it was Gemma and Luca bundled up together at a bonfire.
“Experiencing another first with you @gemowen_1 – Bonfire night,” he writes in the caption.
According to Daily Mail, the pair hope to remain friends through this.
“Their relationship hasn’t worked for the last few weeks, and they have come to the conclusion that it’s better for them both to end things now,” a source reports. “They hope to remain friends and will continue to support each other in everything they do going forward”
Their love story
Gemma and Luca had a rather interesting story on Love Island. Luca was obsessed with Gemma while Gemma continued to date around. At one point, Gemma’s ex, Jacques even showed up. However, eventually, Gemma and Luca did end up together.
Of course, they ended up coming in second on the show behind Ekin-Su and Davide.
