Kelly Ripa Reacts To Shocking ‘Sexiest Men Alive’
Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest were discussing People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive issue, which was recently released. Ryan flipped straight to the page that featured Kelly’s son, Michael Consuelos. It was clear that this was the first Kelly was hearing of it and her reaction was priceless. Keep reading to see what she had to say.
Ryan Seacrest Shares Michael’s Achievement With Kelly
During Wednesday’s episode of LIVE with Kelly and Ryan, Ryan brought out an issue of the magazine. He showed off Michael’s photo alongside a throwback photo of his father, Mark Consuelos. The two look so much alike!
Before Ryan could continue, Kelly yanked the magazine out of his hands, seemingly shocked. “Are you kidding me?!” she asked while she grabbed the magazine. “Give me this.”

Kelly proceeded to take out a pair of glasses and appeared to be reading the page. She said, “You’d think he would tell us so we could pick up a couple of copies for the grandparents.”
The publication was a surprise to her. However, that didn’t keep Michael from mentioning both of his parents in his interview with People.
Kelly Ripa Is Proud Of Her Son And His Upbringing
Kelly continued reading the interview her son gave the magazine. One answer said that he admired his father’s work ethic, which Kelly thought was humorous. “Yeah. He worked one-day last week,” she laughed.
In his interview, Michael also talked about his upbringing. Having two celebrity parents growing up couldn’t have been easy, but Michael said that he didn’t really know any different. Kelly and Mark strived to raise their children “as normal as possible.”
Ripa’s 25-year-old son was featured in the “Gen Next” section of the issue. In the segment that featured Michael, there was a side-by-side photo of him and his lookalike dad, Mark.

Seeing this, Kelly said that she often forgets how much Michael looks like her husband until she sees older photos like this. Despite her jokes, it is clear that Ripa is proud of her son.
“I always considered you just a handsome, lovely fellow, conscientious, hard-working, diligent, respectful,” she said during the show. “I had no idea that you were considered sexy. I always found his father to be sexy.”
Later, Ripa shared snapshots of the interview and magazine page to her Instagram story where she called Michael a “chip off the old block.”
