Jinger Vuolo Unveils New Project Exposing IBLP’s Harmful Beliefs
Former Counting On star Jinger Vuolo has unveiled a new project exposing the IBLP’s harmful beliefs. In case you aren’t familiar, IBLP stands for the Institute of Basic Life Principles and is the religious organization that the Duggar family is a part of. As Jinger announced her latest venture, she spoke about some of the issues with the IBLP. Keep reading to get all of the details.
Duggar fans know that the family adheres to some pretty strict rules. For example, the girls can only wear long skirts and dresses and not pants or shorts. They must court rather than date and must have the intention of marrying whoever they court. The list of rules continues on and on.
However, Counting On viewers only know a little bit about the IBLP and all of its beliefs. A documentary about the IBLP is currently in the works. And now, Jinger is also bringing it all to light.
Jinger Vuolo announces a new venture to expose the IBLP.
On YouTube on Monday, a new video dropped on Jinger and Jeremy’s channel. In the four-minute-long video, the Duggar daughter sits in a studio and talks to the camera. She announces that she has written a book, which tells her story. She describes this as “the hardest thing I’ve ever done.”
The former TLC star explains that she first came up with this idea back in 2017 after attending an IBLP conference. She noticed fewer and fewer friends attending these yearly conferences and learned that some of them had left the IBLP and Christianity altogether. While Jinger Vuolo is still a Christian, she has deconstructed and reconstructed her new beliefs.
She admits that she has “rejected much of the teaching I heard for many years.”
She went on to say who this book is for, stating, “If you’ve been hurt by the teachings of Bill Gothard or any religious leader who claimed to speak for God but didn’t, I wrote this for you.” Then, she challenges everyone to consider the possibility that what they grew up believing might have been incorrect.
Jinger Vuolo’s book, Becoming Free Indeed, is set to release on January 31, 2023.
