‘Today’ Al Roker Has Crazy Outburst During Co-Host Segment
Al Roker had a crazy outburst during a co-hosting segment. It took place during the latest broadcast of the Today Show alongside Carson Daly. Al made his co-hosts jump when he yelled loudly. They discussed the new Christmas Story sequel on Wednesday’s show during the “POPStart segment.”
The film is called A Christmas Story Christmas and is produced by Jimmy Fallon. The weatherman got so excited about the news that he had the urge to say a line from the movie. Apparently, he’s a huge fan of the classic. Read on to see what Al had to say and what happened next.
Al Roker interrupted Carson Daly and screamed
Carson Daly kicked things off by talking about the movie and its release date. This new film features Ralphie, played by Peter Billingsley, who is all grown up and wants to have a memorable Christmas for his children. Some of the original cast members are set to return to the movie. They will honor Ralphie’s father, who passed away.
The release date for the movie is November 17 on HBO Max. Al Roker was too excited about this news. He interrupted Carson and screamed: “Bumpuses!” Carson maintained his composure during the random moment. He carried on with his broadcast. However, Hoda Kotb, Savannah Guthrie, and Craig Melvin couldn’t stop laughing.
As fans of the film know, Bumpuses was the name of Ralphie’s neighbors, who brought their dogs into his family’s home and ruin their Christmas dinner. Ralphie’s dad would scream their name whenever he would open the door. The Christmas movie has many other iconic lines like “You’ll shoot your eye out!”
Al Roker confirmed that he was a huge fan of the movie. He couldn’t wait to watch the sequel this holiday season. Al also informed Carson that Peter Billingsley would be on the show later for an interview. Carson didn’t mind Al’s outburst, since he was used to working with him.
Today Show host gets a new nickname
Last month, Carson poked fun at Al Roker. He referred to him by a new nickname. In a previous broadcast of Today, the television personality referred to his co-host as “Uncle Al” before he announced the nominations for the 2022 People’s Choice Awards.
“We have a POPStart exclusive announcement this morning… the scoop on who’s going to be hosting this year’s big show,” Carson shared with the viewers before adding, “Uncle Al, drum roll please.”
Al Roker made drumroll sounds behind the camera. Carson shared some of the nominations for the fan-voted award show. The 2022 People’s Choice Awards will air on both NBC and E! on Tuesday, December 6.
