Last Monday, Sam was the latest celebrity to be eliminated from Dancing with the Stars. Sam and his dance partner Cheryl Burke ended up in the bottom two. After they were in the bottom two a week prior, the judges couldn’t save them. Now that the competition is getting fierce, he couldn’t avoid elimination this time around.

Sam and Cheryl shared their experience with the show. The meteorologist joked that “everything hurts” since competing on the show. Sam didn’t realize the physical toll that the show can put you through when you rehearse for weeks on end. Even his GMA co-host Michael Strahan and fellow NFL players called DWTS “the hardest thing they had ever done.”

Sam Champion opens up about anxiety

The platinum-blonde anchor has been open about his journey on the show. He shared some personal stories with Cheryl in between their practices. Sam Champion previously talked about finding the confidence to embrace his sexuality. He also opened up about the anxiety he struggled with during his time at DWTS.

“The other thing I want to say before I go and send you off on your day is that it was totally worth the anxiety and hard work to get out of my comfort zone and try something new,” Sam Champion said. “Sometimes we get stuck where we are and I love my life, but it’s good for us to try something new.”
