‘GMA’ Robin Roberts Glad Sam Champion Voted Off ‘DWTS’?

Robin Roberts admits she’s glad that Sam Champion was voted off DWTS. This may come as a shock to fans. Last week, Sam and his partner, professional dancer Cheryl Burke, were the next to go home. Robin Roberts was in town for Sam Champion’s short-lived DWTS run. During Week 3, she was in the audience with the official Sam Champion cheer squad, which included her girlfriend Amber Laign. Robin shared that Sam helped her come out. Now, she’s happy that he was kicked off the dancing competition.

The two are good friends who can crack jokes with one another. During Monday’s broadcast of Good Morning America, Robin smiled as Sam Champion popped up on the screen. As TV Shows Ace previously reported, he made his big return to the NYC studio. His fans and colleagues were happy to see him.

Some wondered if Robin was secretly jealous of Sam’s run on Dancing with the Stars. She shared that she was happy he got voted off. Apparently, it was a joke that she made in good fun. She was glad he got kicked off so she could see more of him at work.

Sam Champion returns to NYC

Last month, Sam Champion jetted off to Los Angeles to compete on DWTS. He took on his new venture. This took time away from his job as a meteorologist. His colleagues were also glad to see him back on Monday morning.

Sam Champion looked happy as well. He didn’t have the Monday blues. The ABC Eyewitness news anchor was ready to get back to the grind after getting the celebrity treatment on the Disney Plus series. During his weather segment on GMA, Robin asked him if he still has sequins everywhere.

“Absolutely,” Sam Champion responded.

She also mentioned that she enjoyed watching the montages of his dances. Fans who fell in love with him on Dancing with the Stars can now watch him on Good Morning America.
