Kanye West Defends ‘White Lives Matter’ Shirt

Kanye West did an interview on Tucker Carlson Tonight and the whole thing has fans talking. One major thing Kanye discussed? His White Lives Matter clothing.

Kanye West’s ‘White Lives Matter’ clothes

In a recent Yeezy show, rapper Kanye West revealed his new line of White Lives Matter clothing. Not only that, but he continues to wear and talk about this clothing. In a new Tucker Carlson interview, he’s opening up on why exactly he made the clothes and what they mean to him People reports.

He starts by explaining that when he does things he does them ‘from a feeling.’ Making these clothing items came from a gut instinct he claims.

“I do certain things from a feeling, I just channel the energy. It just feels right. It’s using a gut instinct, a connection with God, and just brilliance,” Kanye explains.

Like father like son

Through all of this, Kanye shares that his dad really likes the shirt too, and thought it was rather funny seeing his son wear it.

“You know, my dad is an educated ex-Black Panther, and he put in a text to me today, he said, ‘White Lives Matter. Ha ha ha ha ha,’ ” he says. “And I said, ‘I thought the shirt was a funny shirt. I thought the idea of me wearing it was funny.’ And I said, ‘Dad, why do you think it was funny?’ He said, ‘Just a Black man stating the obvious.’ ”

Kanye goes on to explain that that was his favorite response to the new shirts.

Of course, to wrap things up Kanye explains the simplest reason for creating the White Lives Matter clothing – he says it was the obvious thing to do.

“So the answer to why I wrote White Lives Matter on a shirt is because they do. It’s the obvious thing.”

Not the first time he’s talked about it

This isn’t the first time he has brought up these new shirts. In fact, he just posted them on his Instagram too along with some text conversations about the shirts. Apparently, he plans to donate proceeds from the White Lives Matter shirts and give them to Black Lives Matter in support.
