‘The View’ Fans Rally Behind Star Jones Return

The View fans want more of Star Jones. They called the latest guest “brilliant” and “intelligent.” Viewers were in awe over her interview on the daytime talk show. Some exclaimed that the segment went by too fast.

Star was a guest on Friday’s broadcast of The View. She was there to discuss many topics, including the longest-running series, Divorce Court. Star shared her thoughts on what makes the show so popular to this day. Fans took to social media to rally for her to become a full-time host once again.

Why did Star Jones leave The View?

Star Jones was an original host on The View. At the time, she was a permanent host alongside Barbara Walters, Joy Behar, Debbie Matenopoulos, and Meredith Viera. Star left the show in 2006. Joy is the only remaining original cast member on the morning talk show.

Star Jones previously revealed that she didn’t leave the show on her own accord. Ultimately, The View didn’t renew her contract. She left the show early instead of waiting until her contract ended. Star admitted in her interview with E! Online that it was an “emotional time” for her.

“It was a bad emotional time. I made the decision that I wanted to go out on my own terms so that if I walked back here I’d feel good about it,” Star explained to E! Online.

ABC network felt that Star wasn’t attracting viewers. They attributed her weight loss as the reason behind the ratings slump. Keep in mind that 2006 was a different time then and female celebrities were judged for either losing or gaining weight. Star underwent gastric bypass surgery to help with her weight loss.

Makes her return to The View

On Friday, September 30, Star made her big return to The View. Fans were happy to see her after she’s been on the show for decades. During her interview, Star interacted with Joy and shared her thoughts on different topics. Once the segment ended, The View fans were left wanting more of Star.

They flocked to Twitter to share their thoughts on her opinions. Some raved about how “brilliant” and “intelligent” she sounded during the conversation. Others wanted her back on the show as a permanent host. There were also some who called out the network for rushing through her segment.
