The Real Reason ‘American Pickers’ Is Not Airing Tonight
Crashing ratings and disappointed fans, it seems like nothing is working for American Pickers’ latest season. Amid this slew of bad news, it has come to light that the History Channel show won’t be airing a new episode this week. What is the reason for this? Is the show being canceled? What Caused American Pickers’ Ratings To Nosedive?
American Pickers Season 23 premiered on Saturday, July 9 with 1,007,000 Million views. However, ever since its premiere, it has been a steep decline. Episode 26 aired on August 27, 2022, managed to get just 829,000 views. While many fans have been boycotting the show due to Frank’s firing, he isn’t the only reason for the show’s staggering down. The show also changed its timeslot leading to confusion among viewers. The series was moved from its original 9 p.m. slot to 8 p.m. ET.

Mike Wolfe’s brother Robbie Wolfe was brought in as a replacement for Frank in the show. However, his inclusion didn’t make a difference to the ratings. Rather, it started plummeting further as fans found him boring.
So, the decision to halt the broadcast of the upcoming episode might have something to do with this fiasco.
American Pickers Won’t Air Reruns Instead Of A New Episode
As revealed exclusively by The Sun, the network won’t be airing American Pickers Season 23 Episode 20 titled ‘Movie Making Magic’ on September 24. The broadcast schedule has been shifted to October 9, 2022.
Instead, the channel will be airing two episodes from a three-part series The Cars That Made America. It has also been confirmed that the network won’t be airing any reruns of the show on Saturday.

American Pickers’ September 17 episode titled Naughty And Nice; Super Best Bizzare Picks Part 2 brought in the lowest rating in the series since its July premiere. The episode was watched by a total of 762,000 viewers which is too low if you take a look at the show’s ratings, especially when Frank was around.
American Pickers’ Fans Dub Mike’s Brother Robbie Wolfe ‘Boring’
In order to rope fans in, the channel even opted for a desperate attempt by airing a throwback episode starring Frank. However, the strategy failed miserably. The last time American Pickers took a week-long break was during the Labor Day weekend.
After the show’s premiere, fans have been boycotting the show since Frank is no longer a part of it. Talking about their disappointment, one fan wrote, “The show needs Frank, Mike, & Dani. Stop changing it. I’m sure Robbie is a nice guy but comes across boring on TV.”

Let’s not forget franks alcohol problem and the problems that came as a result, plenty of issues with that. Also let’s not discount Jersey Mike, he’s totally awesome I think, gives the show character. Frank wrote his destiny and none of us know all the truth.
