Ryan Seacrest Ignores His Health Issue?
Ryan Seacrest admitted that he’s ignoring his health issues. This comes amid the ever-growing concern for the television star. His fanbase thinks he needs to step back from some of his projects. There’s no doubt that Ryan is one of the hardest working men in the entertainment business.
On the latest episode of Live With Kelly and Ryan, the 47-year-old revealed that he’s been pushing off surgery. Because of this, he will have to back out of an upcoming sporting event. Ryan shared an update with fans about his medical issue. Read on to learn more and to see what he had to say.
Is Ryan Seacrest backing out of surgery?
On Tuesday’s broadcast, Ryan Seacrest told co-host Kelly Ripa that he can’t run in the upcoming marathon. The television producer admitted that he’s been ignoring a major health issue. Kelly crossed her arms and asked him to share an update about his knee.
Ryan admitted that he will have to put the run “on the back burner.” However, he’s also been putting off his surgery. He told his fans that the MRI has been pushed back, but he did see his doctor about the issue with his knee. Ryan discovered that there was a flap tear of the meniscus, which can cause the knee to lock up, per Reno Orthopedic Center.
Kelly asked him if he scheduled the surgery. Ryan admitted that he doesn’t want to go through with it. Later on, in the show, he mentioned his impending surgery once again. During a segment, Kelly tried to break the record that someone had for putting out the most sweaters within 30 seconds.
Both of the hosts struggled to get them on during that time. Ryan Seacrest explained his medical issue, which slows him down. He can’t get on the floor like he used to.
“My meniscus was torn, so obviously, I cannot maneuver on the floor like that to break a record,” he joked. “Sabotage.”
American Idol host talks about his health issues
This isn’t the first time that Ryan Seacrest shared an update about his health. Last week, he opened up about his knee when the co-hosts took part in another world record. The radio personality shared a fair warning with the viewers at home.
“I just want to tell you right now. Disclaimer: I have a bad left knee,” Ryan Seacrest explained. “And I am down on my knees for this and it’s about knee speed, too. It’s a meniscus tear. I can’t…”
He forfeit the competition as he struggled to get back up on his feet. Back in 2020, fans were concerned when they thought he suffered a stroke during a virtual broadcast. Ryan co-hosted the morning show from his home during the pandemic. Fans noticed that one of his eyes supposedly drooped and his speech was slurred.
However, Ryan Seacrest’s reps confirmed that he didn’t suffer a stroke. He’s maintained the position that he’s exhausted from his many jobs. Yet, it happened again in May 2022 when his eye seemingly twitched and his face drooped. Fans think he should step away from the spotlight.
