The Netflix series halts production to pay its respects to Queen Elizabeth II

Although Queen Elizabeth II is no longer among the living, many people around the world really feel her presence. Many believe that the rainbows that appeared over London after her passing was a love letter from the queen to her loyal subjects.

Now, the creative team behind The Crown really wants to pay its respects to the fallen monarch. Multiple sources have confirmed that production has paused on the show’s latest season.

The Crown is a love letter to her and I’ve nothing to add for now, just silence and respect,” show creator Peter Morgan told Deadline. “I expect we will stop filming out of respect too.”

There’s no way to be sure when or if production will resume. But fans of The Crown will definitely have to wait a little while longer before any new content comes to Netflix. In the meantime, there’s always time to rewatch the series from the start.
