‘The View’ Host Joy Behar Talks Turning 80 Years Old
The View host Joy Behar opened up about turning 80 years old. This comes amid the rumors that she’s expected to retire from her permanent position at the table sometime this year. Fans noticed that the round table has gotten a lot more crowded. During the summer, the show announced that Ana Navarro and Alyssa Farah Griffin would be the new conservative panelists.
On the latest broadcast, Joy broke her silence on turning 80. She also shared that her inspiration is the original cast member Barbara Walters, who was also the creator of the show. Read on to learn more and to see what Joy had to say.
Joy Behar talks about her upcoming birthday
On the Season 26 premiere of The View, Joy Behar shared a major milestone. She will be turning 80 on October 8, 2022. It all started when her fellow co-host Whoopi Goldberg told her that she “looks great.” Joy admitted that she “lost a little weight.”
She let it known that age is nothing but a number. Backstage at the show, Joy spoke to Entertainment Tonight about turning the big 8-0. She said with a smile that she “won’t discuss the number.” However, she doesn’t care because she loves the way she looks.
“But, you know what? I look so good. I can’t even deny it at my age anymore,” Joy Behar told Entertainment Tonight before saying with a laugh, “This is what 40 looks like.”
Joy compared herself to Jane Fonda, who’s 84 years old. She reached out to the legend after learning that she has Hodgkins Lymphoma. Jane is remaining positive since she’s responding well to the chemo and learned that it’s curable. Joy said that she’s trying to age the best way she knows how.
That doesn’t mean she wants to have a huge birthday. She doesn’t like birthday parties because someone is always left out. “You can’t invite everybody and you always include somebody. That’s why I have trouble with parties,” Joy Behar added.
The View co-host credits Barbara Walters
She also shared the inspiration she got from Barbara Walters, who created The View and made it what it is today. Joy Behar credits the co-host for her long-standing career.
“I miss Barbara. I do miss Barbara,” Joy continued. “Thank you, Barbara, for giving me a job like this that has lasted so many years.”
The talk show host truly feels that “longevity” is the key to success. She was inspired by Barbara, who had a long and successful career. Joy Behar saw the same for herself, which happened.

One would think shed have developed a brain by now
She should retire. She is too much, very impolite, mouthed, she doesn’t respect anyone, specially when they don’t agreed with the leftovers minds. Too old, I can see her age, even after plastic surgery (facelift) and all her Botox. She should be replaced by a younger intelligent person who respect different opinions about anything like politics perhaps? Thanks a bunch! bye
I love Joy, she is intelligent and alway says smart views.
She is my favorite.
She’s always claiming she “looks so good” for 80. On today’s show, she said, “This is what 80 looks like.” Well, this is what 80 and good plastic surgery looks like is what she should have said.
Joyless Behar should have never had her position, much less hung around this long.
She’s an angry old lady who thinks she’s objective but is falling off the left end of the political spectrum. She hasn’t an objective bone in her body and anyone who replaces her will be an upgrade.
