‘GMA’ Robin Roberts’ Partner Amber Enjoys Sweet Send Off
Good Morning America anchor Robin Roberts just returned from her Croatia vacation with her partner of 17 years, Amber Laign. Right after George Stephanopoulos returned from vacation, the ABC star announced that she is taking some time off camera to enjoy some quality time with her partner.
Robin Roberts Celebrates Partner Amber’s 48th Birthday In Croatia
Now that she is back from her vacation, she shared a few glimpses from her trip on Instagram that revealed the two celebrating Amber’s 48th birthday on a boat. The 61-year-old shared more information about the pictures with a caption, “Week of celebration all leading to today….Sweet Amber’s birthday!! Wonderful to have longtime friends Scarlett and Linda join us. Greatest gift was seeing the birthday girl having so much fun.”

The first picture showed Roberts, Laign, & their friends on a yacht holding glasses of champagne. The picture also had two big balloons spelled out ‘48’ in front of them. The second picture was of Laign’s cake with a beautiful frosting that read, “Happy Birthday ‘Sweet Amber’”.
GMA Robin Shares Video Of A Beautiful Send Off
The morning show host also shared a beautiful send-off video on Instagram marking an end to their fun vacation time. The video has Amber and Robin sitting on a boat. It started with the chef bringing Amber a cake to celebrate her birthday as he sang happy birthday in an angelic voice.

Robin captioned the video, “Great send-off before our journey back home… on the eve of Sweet Amber’s birthday our chef had 2 surprises for her, a delicious cake AND an incredible singing voice!! #virgoseason #sundayvibves.”

Fans quickly took to the comments to wish Amber on her birthday as one wrote, “Happy birthday sweet amber.”
Another admired the singer’s voice and wrote, “Wow! He’s got a great voice!”
“Virgo season is a great way to end summer and usher in Fall,” wrote a third fan.
GMA’s Robin Roberts’ Has Another Reason To Celebrate
Apart from it being Laign’s birthday, the couple had another big reason to celebrate earlier this summer. Laign completed her radiation therapy as a part of her treatment for breast cancer. Roberts made this announcement by sharing a video of Laign ringing a bell at her treatment center. The video also highlights a plague labeled, “My treatment is done, the course is run, and I am on my way.”

The GMA host thanked supporters & wrote about how proud she is of Laign for braving through the disease and ultimately conquer it. She wrote, “We both thank you for all your well wishes and prayers. Proud of her and all fellow Thrivers for your grit and grace during a challenging time. This is indeed my #mondaymotivation.”
However, Laign isn’t the only one who suffered from health issues. Back in 2007, Roberts was also diagnosed with breast cancer. In 2012, she was diagnosed with the rare blood disease, myelodysplastic syndrome. However, her sister, Sally-Ann Roberts, was able to save her life by donating her bone marrow.
