'Uncle From Another World' Episode 8 Delayed Indefinitely

Netflix’s Uncle From Another World anime became an instant hit among fans after its July 6, 2022, premiere. However, the anime has hit a snag after a successful run of seven episodes. On its official website, the makers announced on Wednesday that Uncle From Another World Episode 8 and beyond has been indefinitely delayed.

Uncle From Another World Delayed Due To COVID

The cause of this delay is the rapid increase in COVID-19 cases within the Atelier Pontdarc studio and others associated with the production of the anime. Instead, the anime will re-run episodes 3 to 6 throughout September. Until the COVID situation comes under control, there is no telling when the series will return for fans.

As per Anime News Network, this is not the first time the anime has suffered a delay. Earlier in August, the fantasy anime suffered a two-week long delay for the fifth episode citing a similar issue within the studio. Episode 5 was scheduled for August 3, but, it finally aired on August 17.

**Opening Theme Song Story Is Performed By Mayu Maeshima**

Uncle From Another World was a simulcast with a worldwide premiere on Netflix as well as AT-X. The anime is being directed by Shigeki Kawai at the Atelier Pontdarc studio. Kenta Ihara from the Full Dive fame is overseeing the scripts of the series while Kazuhiro Ota is designing the characters. The opening theme song Story is performed by Mayu Maeshima while Yuka Iguchi performs the ending theme song Ichibanboshi Sonority.

The anime’s official synopsis reads:

“Seventeen years ago, Takafumi’s uncle fell into a coma, but now he’s back like a man risen from his grave. Soon, Takafumi discovers two bizarre things: His uncle treasures video games above all else, and, while comatose, he was actually transported to another world as some heroic guardian! Now, not only does Takafumi have to room with an uncle who is literally magical, he also has to catch the guy up on two decades of history—smartphones, high-speed internet, modern anime tropes…and the traumatic outcome of the ’90s console war!”

Uncle From Another World Manga Has Eight Tankobon Volumes

The manga was serialized in June 2018 by ComicWalker magazine and published by Kadokawa Shoten. As of today, a total of eight Tankobon volumes have been published in Japan. However, only five of these eight volumes are available in English via Yen Press. An English version of volume six is in the works and slated for release on February 21, 2023.
