Katie Thurston Reveals Shocking Reason For John Hersey Split

Katie Thurston shares the real reason behind John Hersey split
It was a romance that was fairly short-lived and fans were shocked when Katie Thurston and John Hersey announced their split. US Weekly shared all the details Katie had to say about her breakup.
Katie is finally opening up and sharing more intimate details about the couple’s split. In her in-depth interview with Kaitlyn Bristowe on the Off the Vine Podcast, Katie revealed that it was John who dumped her.
Katie then shared that they actually had broken up twice. The first time they split they were apart for just a few weeks. They worked through their issues and got back together. However, things didn’t get better.
She went on to say, “I think it was just unavoidable. … Like, we just got [into] a conversation and at one point, I just said to him, … ‘I know more reasons why you don’t like me than why you love me.'” Katie continued, “And that’s a really s—ty feeling.”

Katie believes that relationships are give and take. She said, “He said, ‘I just really need someone who can enjoy my passions and who wants to watch surf, maybe learn surfing with me,” she continued her story by saying, “I look at him and I go, ‘You realize I jumped out of a f—king plane three times … to join him in his passions. Eight hours of ground school, all these things to partake in ‘his passion’ and somehow that was completely ignored and now we’re focused on surfing. At that point, I knew nothing I did was going to ever be good enough. It was really a blessing in disguise. … I think I would have stuck it out a lot longer than I should have. So like, now I’m in a very good place about it. Then, I was probably the saddest I’ve ever been.”
Katie said that it was hard when they started dating. The public had already formed an opinion of them because she and John started dating so soon after her split from Blake Moynes.
She can safely say she doesn’t regret the relationship with John. However, she said it was “crash and burn” for six months with him. She couldn’t understand how he could not know who she was or what she had to offer since they began as friends.
She bought him a van
Katie also revealed she had bought John’s van that he has been traveling around in. She gave him the resources he needed to be able to quit his job and live how he wanted to live.
She still doesn’t understand how he could take so much from her and still think they weren’t working out.
Katie also revealed that John is paying her back for the van.
As far as where they stand now, Katie said she and John are on good terms but she’s not sure they are friends. Time will tell if they can reach the point of being friends again.
