ESPN Fans Upset, Ask ‘Where In The World Is Mike Greenberg?’
ESPN fans are upset. They want answers behind Mike Greenberg’s disappearance. The sports broadcast recently went missing from his morning show Get Up. They can’t help but wonder if he’s no longer a fixture on the show. Some fans asked for details on his whereabouts while others think the show needs a major reboot.
ESPN fans demanded him to come back
Some ESPN fans took to Twitter to share their reaction to his disappearance. Most of them have been upset that their favorite host has been away from the show too much. They also shared that Get Up should get a major shakeup if Mike wants to walk away from the show.
“Maybe @espn needs to rebrand the show as Sometimes Greeny! Not This Week Greeny! Or even Where in the World is Greeny?” one fan wrote.
“Will Mike Greenberg ever work again?” another viewer asked.
Mike Greenberg was absent from ESPN’s Get Up
Mike Greenberg used to be the face of the EPSN talk show. He’s commonly referred to as “Greeny.” The audience got to know him as part of his on-screen hosting gigs with the sports network. For the first few weeks in August, fans noticed that Mike wasn’t on as usual.
He finally returned to Get Up on Tuesday, August 16. It was a welcome relief to some of his fans, while others weren’t as amused. During the episode, he spoke to Zach Wilson about his knee surgery and his future with the New York Jets.
He also explained what fans can expect from the Dallas Cowboys during the 2022-2023 NFL season. The season just started as the football teams have begun training practice. Before hosting Get Up, Mike hosted a number of shows for ESPN and other sports networks.
He previously co-headlined the show, Mike & Mike, with fellow sportscaster Mike Golic. The series lasted from 2000 to 2017. Per Celebrity Net Worth, Mike Greenberg’s 2022 net worth is $28 million. He was also one of the panelists on SportsCenter. In April 2018, Mike joined Get Up, which he’s fronted ever since.
“I thought I would really miss the platform and the opportunity to go on and opine about stuff, but it has been a really nice time,” Mike told The Wrap. “Who gets the opportunity in the middle of their career to take this much time off without it being a bad thing?”
Why Mike Greeny joined Get Up
At the time, Mike teased that the show would be different from anything else that’s ever aired on EPSN. He wanted to expand the network’s reach to the world. Mike had plans to feature as many different people as possible. As a New Yorker, this was important to him.
However, ESPN fans are not satisfied with his return. They expect him to leave the show once again. What are your thoughts on Mike’s return to Get Up? Does it annoy you that he’s rarely on the ESPN show? Sound off below in the comment section.
