Hallmark’s Chesapeake Shores Season 6 is premiering on Sunday. What does Jesse Metcalfe, former star of the series have to say about the end? Why did he leave the series, and what does he have to say about his former castmates?

Here is the latest information.

Chesapeake Shores Alum Jesse Metcalfe Discusses Final Season

Just a week ago, Jesse Metcalfe was at Christmas Con, in Pasadena. The Hallmarkies podcast spoke with Metcalfe about the final season of Chesapeake Shores. They asked if he had anything to say about his former castmates.

“You know, I absolutely love my former castmates. I hope they had a great time shooting the sixth season. And, you know, I hope it is well-received,” he shared.

Metcalfe then confirmed that he will not be back for the final season.

“I’m sorry I couldn’t be a part of it. But, I felt like it kind of came to the end of the line for me, and there was nothing else I could really do with the character or the story or storyline.”

Jesse then continued to explain the circumstance that led to his shock departure from Chesapeake Shores right before Season 5.

“You know, a lot of changes were happening behind the scenes. So, it wasn’t ideal. I didn’t really get to see the Trabby storyline to fruition and move people again in a really big way. Because, everyone was sort of waiting for Abby and Trace to get together in a meaningful way, and get engaged and get married. They had all these various weddings during different seasons of the show. But, that would have been the penultimate wedding.”

He then explained that they had new showrunners, but they did not see it go in “that direction, and it really saddened me.”

He concluded with, “but, of course, I wish them all the success in the world.”

How Does He Get Into The Christmas Spirit?

Although Jesse Metcalfe admitted to Rachel Wagner, the podcast host, that he doesn’t get into the Christmas spirit in August, making Christmas movies does get him into that spirit.

Moreover, he revealed that meeting fans face-to-face is “positive reinforcement.”

“You know that you know what you’re doing as an actor and telling these stories it’s landing. And it’s making an impact on people in their lives.”

Unfortunately, there was no information on whether the Desperate Housewives alum will be in a Countdown to Christmas movie this year. His last holiday movie was Christmas Under The Stars with Autumn Reeser back in 2019.

Chesapeake Shores Season 6 premieres on Sunday, August 14, at 8 p.m., Eastern, on the Hallmark Channel.

Don’t miss watching Jesse in Seasons 1-4, and the beginning of Season 5 of Chesapeake Shores. These episodes are available on Hallmark Now, the network’s streaming channel.
