‘The Terminal List’ Chris Pratt Series Defies All Odds
Chris Pratt’s thriller-action series The Terminal List premiered on July 1, 2022, on Amazon Prime Video. While fans love the premise & the acting by the cast, the series didn’t go down well with the critics. However, the series has beaten all odds to become America’s second most-streamed show.
The Terminal List Shuts Down Critics With A New Accolade
Seems like the makers don’t have to defend their work to the critics anymore! This new Navy thriller has effectively shut down critics and trolls alike. Created by Antoine Fuqua, the TV series features Pratt as Lieutenant Commander James Reece. He is a US Navy Seal with 8 combat deployments. As per Meaww, during the July 4-10 window, the series was streamed by viewers for a whopping 1.6 billion minutes.

So, it surely is a big win in the fans’ eyes. However, critics haven’t shied away from snubbing the Navy drama. The TV series got a jarring review by The Hollywood Reporter’s chief critic Daniel Fienberg. He wrote, “It’s the entertainment equivalent of a charred hockey puck, with the same limited range of flavor and aesthetics.”
“The show ripped-from-the-headlines resonance related to military PTSD and the administrative systems failing our men and women,” he added.
Former Navy Seal Jack Carr Feels Critics Were Triggered
In startling contrast, viewers have dubbed the series exciting and phenomenal. Talking about the negative review, one viewer mentioned, “Critics, as usual, got this one wrong.” On Rotten Tomatoes, the TV series has a low 40 out of 100 ratings, while the viewers’ rating stands at 94 out of 100.
The plot is based on a novel written by a former Navy Seal , Jack Carr. His novel was published in 2018, and he recently appeared on the Tucker Carlson Tonight show on Friday. As per Jack, the show set off the critics. He explained, “It falls right in line with everything that I understand about the current culture and climate in America right now.”
“It seems to have triggered quite a few of these critics,” he added.
The Terminal List Flaunts 95 Percent Viewer Rating
He further explained, “The 95 percent viewer rating, audience rating, makes it all worth it. We didn’t make it for the critics.”
“We made it for those in the arena. We made it for the soldier, sailor, airman, and marine that went downrange to Iraq and Afghanistan, so they could sit on the couch and say, ‘Hey, these guys put in the work. They put in the effort to make something special and make a show that speaks to them.’ And that 95 percent rating lets me know that we at least got close,” he concluded.

Jack is also the TV series executive producer alongside Pratt. He also revealed that a critic asked him what one would even call a show like Terminal List. To which the author quipped, “You call that the No. 1 series on Prime Video.”
The show also stars Taylor Kitsch, Constance Wu, & Riley Keough in major roles. The Terminal list follows the life of the Navy Seal Operator James Reece, who is on a mission to uncover a mysterious truth behind the death of his platoon of 12. Broken and dealing with the struggles of PTSD, the actor has to find his way out of memory confusion, paranoia, & lingering headaches.
