The View’s Joy Behar Reveals Nightmare Near Death Experience
The View host Joy Behar revealed her nightmare near-death experience. She admitted that she “almost died” when she was 37 years old. Read on to learn more and to see what else she had to say. There was a reason why she had to share the story.
Shocks The View hosts with “life-threatening” experience
During Wednesday’s broadcast of The View, Joy Behar opened up about her “life-threatening” health scare. The experience happened when she was just 37. Due to the ongoing conversation about abortion rights, Joy opened up about the time when she suffered an ectopic pregnancy.
During an ectopic pregnancy, also referred to as a tubal pregnancy, a fertilized egg implants outside the uterus, according to Mayo Clinic. It’s fatal since it can damage the organs and cause blood loss. Joy Behar shared with her fellow hosts that she “almost died” from her ectopic pregnancy. Elisabeth Hasselbeck returned to the show in time for the political conversation that’s been sweeping the nation.
She had to be “rushed to the hospital.” Joy spoke with the doctor the next day. He told her she could’ve died in the emergency room. She wanted to clarify that what happened to her was “not a miscarriage,” and “not an abortion.” She wanted to share her story as the panel discussed the overturning of Roe V. Wade in June, which is still making headlines as states strip abortion rights.
“I was in the situation where I could go to Beth Israel Hospital, and they took care of it there,” Joy Behar explained.
Nine years before, Joy welcomed her daughter, Eve, with her then-husband Joe Behar. As TV Shows Ace previously reported, her pregnancy wasn’t the only chilling story that she’s shared from her past. Last week, Joy shocked her co-hosts when she said that she started driving at 13, even though it’s illegal.
Joy Behar’s chilling tale of driving alone
Joy Behar shared another important story about safety in the midst of fear. She told her fellow hosts that she’s been driving since she was 13. The View host spent most of her time driving alone. Every time her car broke down, she would fear that someone would stalk her.
So, she came up with a clever idea to make it look like she was driving with someone. She would dress up a bowling pin that would seat in the passenger seat. Joy Behar’s head was already filled with all kinds of thoughts at that age. She read Truman Capote’s book, In Cold Blood, so much that she was “so scared” to be alone in the house.
Joy did whatever she could in these frightening circumstances. What are your thoughts on her latest story? Do you like it when she opens up to the audience? Sound off below in the comment section.

I stopped watching The view 10 years ago. Too much opinion and nastiness to start the day. Joy is intolerant of others feelings. Why is she still there?
