‘My 600-Lb. Life’: Whatever Happened To Justin Assanti?
Justin Assanti didn’t make much of a splash on My 600-Lb. Life, but nearly every fan remembers his brother Steven. Steven Assanti is one of the show’s most infamous guests due to his poor behavior and substance abuse issues. At one point, Dr. Now even kicked Steven out of the hospital for verbally abusing the medical staff.
Today, Steven Assanti doesn’t really seem to be in great shape. But whatever happened to his younger brother Justin? That’s exactly what fans online want to know.

My 600-Lb. Life fans first met the Assanti brothers in Season 5, episode 13. Justin and Steven were both struggling with food addiction and mobility issues. However, Steven tended to hog the spotlight. In hindsight, it’s easy for many fans to forget that Steven has a brother at all.
But online fans remain curious.
“We all know about Steven Assanti, but what about his brother?” one Redditor asked. “Has anyone heard anything about Justin’s weight loss journey? I know Steven gets the most media attention between the episodes and his TikToks but I never hear about Justin. I wonder if he got weight loss surgery.”
“He got the gastric sleeve like Steven. It was near the end of the second Assanti episode,” another user replied. One Redditor commented that they noticed Justin’s hobby shop was still open. Others chimed in and said that Justin even posts in the threads from time to time.
Justin Assanti seems to keep a much lower profile than his brother Steven, but it appears that he’s around and doing quite well. That’s always great news to hear, especially after seeing how much Steven abused and berated his family onscreen.

In 2021, TV Shows Ace put out another piece on Justin Assanti, revealing that he and his older brother no longer speak. It became immediately apparent on My 600-Lb. Life that there is a lot of bad blood between the two. It’s not entirely certain if TLC will be putting out new episodes of the hit medical show, but fans would definitely like to see another update piece involving the Assanti brothers.
Dr. Now and the rest of the healthcare team did their best to help Steven, but Justin was the one who seemed more interested in actually receiving assistance. Either way, most fans agree that their episodes were very memorable.
