Netflix Anime ‘Uncle From Another World’ Episode 5 Delayed
Netflix’s Uncle From Another World (Isekai Ojisan-manga) premiered on July 6 and has successfully hooked anime fans, given its unique premise. As of now, 4 episodes of the series are available for Netflix users to stream. However, it seems like they will have to wait a lot longer for Episode 5. But why is the release delayed?
Uncle From Another World Episode 5 Delayed Citing COVID-19 Infections
The TV network, Hotondoshindeiru, dedicated to broadcasting Uncle From Another World on Wednesday, announced the delay on its official website. It read that the anime’s fifth episode & beyond have all been delayed citing the rapid increase in COVID-19 cases within Atelier Pontdarc & other studios that are involved in the creation of the anime.

As per Anime News Network, Episode 5 is now slated for release on August 17, followed by Episode 6 to air on August 24. Similarly, Episode 7 will air on August 31. Apart from the anime’s July 6 premiere on Netflix, it also debuted in Japan on AT-X on the very same day.
The series is directed at Atelier Pontdarc by Shigeki Kawai. Kenta lhara, who is also the writer for Full Dive, Mieruko-chan, and Saga of Tanya the Evil, has taken charge of writing the scripts for this anime. In terms of character design, Kazuhiro Ota from the Natsu no Arashi! fame has taken charge.

The opening theme song ‘story’ is performed by Mayu Maeshima, while the ending theme song ‘Ichibanboshi Sonority’ is performed by Yuka Iguchi.
Uncle From Another World Anime Isn’t Available In English
The manga is licensed by Yen Press, and the story’s premise reads:
“Seventeen years ago, Takafumi’s uncle fell into a coma, but now he’s back like a man risen from his grave. Soon, Takafumi discovers two bizarre things: His uncle treasures video games above all else, and, while comatose, he was actually transported to another world as some heroic guardian! Now, not only does Takafumi have to room with an uncle who is literally magical, he also has to catch the guy up on two decades of history—smartphones, high-speed internet, modern anime tropes…and the traumatic outcome of the ’90s console war!”

The anime series will have a total of 13 episodes. Although the anime is available on Netflix US, it hasn’t been dubbed in English. Rather, fans have to make do with English subtitles.
Anime Fans Love The Hilarious Uncle-Nephew Duo
For the unversed, the word ‘Isekai’ in the title means ‘different/another world.’
The series’ first episode opens with a hilarious interaction between Yosuke Shibazaki & his nephew Takafumi Takaoka. The latter tries his best to inform his recently awoken uncle of the harsh realities of modern life. However, he discovers that his uncle’s insane ramblings regarding his otherworld adventures were actually true.
