‘Home Town Takeover’ Season 2: Brings Another Couple On Board
Home Town Takeover is preparing for its second season, and the HGTV reality series has a new set of co-hosts. This season, Dave and Jenny Marrs join original hosts Ben and Erin Napier.
For those unfamiliar with the show, Home Town Takeover takes the home makeover shows and one-ups it by having the stars come into a town and makeover everything. In Season 1, Ben and Erin helped makeover Wetumpka, Alabama, restoring homes, businesses, and public spaces to improve the quality of living. In Season 2, they roll into Fort Morgan, Colorado, and they have some help.
Who is Dave and Jenny Marrs on Home Town Takeover?
Fans of home makeover shows might recognize the names, Dave and Jenny Marrs. The couple hosted their own show, Fixer to Fabulous on HGTV. They also took their talents to a spin-off in 2020 called Fixer to Fabulous: Welcome Inn, where they restored a historic 1870s house in Rogers. Arkansas. They turned it into a retreat people can go to stay in. That seems to make them a great fit for Home Town Takeover.
Jenny and Dave married in 2005. Dave was from Colorado and Jenny from Florida, but they chose to make their home in Arkansas. It was there that the couple started their own construction company, with Dave running the business and Jenny working as a designer. This is when HGTV discovered them. While they never reached out to the television network, it was their business that caught the attention of HGTV, who reached out to them via email about the possibility of a show.
The couple then became stars thanks to Fixer to Fabulous. Dave and Jenny live in a farmhouse from 1906 that they restored with their five kids. They also raise sheep, goats, donkeys, and more on their farm.
Ben Napier talks Home Town Takeover Season 2
Ben Napier spoke to PEOPLE and he is excited about the second season, saying that it will remain completely different from the first.
“It’s just a really cool town and it’s so much different from Wetumpka and Laurel, but at the same time, it has all of the same problems they had,” Ben said. He pointed out that young people left the historic town and it is in need of a reboot. “The town has a really fascinating history, a really diverse cultural background. And just like any small town across America, it has these really inherent charms about it. So we want to go and help them tell that story.”
“We’re honored that Ben and Erin asked us to join them on this project, because we got a little taste of it last year and we just really loved the show,” Jenny Marrs said. “We love small towns, and so we feel really passionate about being a part of this.”
The second season of Home Town Takeover will hit HGTV in early 2023.
