This superhero fantasy-drama series’ third season premiered worldwide on June 22, 2022, on the streaming platform. It quickly replaced Stranger Things from its unconquered number one ranking in Nielsen’s Streaming Top 10 charts globally.
The Umbrella Academy Clocks 2.5 Billion Minutes Watch Time
Similarly, fans of The Umbrella Academy had been waiting for two years to catch up on their favorite emotionally troubled and quirky superheroes. As per Meaww, this fantasy drama series has successfully put a pause on the longstanding Stranger Things hot streak. This is according to Nielsen’s streaming rankings between June 20 and June 26, 2022. Given this change in viewership, The Umbrella Academy bagged the first spot in the list with close to 2.5 billion minutes watched.

In comparison, Stranger Things slipped down to the second spot with 2.3 billion watched minutes during the same viewing window. Regardless, it is a possibility that the series might make it back to the top spot again after Season 4, Volume 2’s final two episodes premiered on Netflix. As these episodes premiered on July 1, 2022, with 4+ hours of runtime, they are to be included in the next viewing window for ranking purposes.
