‘Stranger Things’ Season 4 Adds Robert Englund, ‘Game Of Thrones’ Alum And More

Robert Englund, who played Freddy Krueger in A Nightmare on Elm Street will star in Season 4 of Stranger Things

The popular Netflix series Stranger Things is getting a selection of new series regulars, including Robert Englund. The actor is best-known for his role of Freddy Krueger in A Nightmare on Elm Street. Other new cast members include Eduardo Franco (Booksmart), Jamie Campbell Bower (Sweeney Todd) and Joseph Quinn (Catherine the Great).

Season 4 of Stranger Things

Production on Season 4 finally began after a delay due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. A few teasers have come out, including the fact that Hopper (David Harbour) did, indeed, survive the events of the Season 3 finale. We also know he is a prisoner somewhere in Russia.

So far, other plot details are being kept under wraps, with only teasers of the episode titles revealed. Meanwhile, more detailed descriptions have been provided for the eight new cast members.

New cast for the Netflix show

Robert Englund, best known as Freddy Krueger in A Nightmare on Elm Street, plays Victor Creel. Creel is a disturbed and intimidating man, imprisoned in a psychiatric facility for a gruesome murder in the 1950s.

Eduardo Franco plays Argyle, Jonathan’s new best friend. This is a lighter character, as he is a fun-loving stoner who delivers pizzas for Surfer Boy Pizza. Joseph Quinn joins in the role of Eddie Munson, a 1980s metalhead who runs The Hellfire Club, Hawkins High’s D&D club. Eddie will be right at the epicenter of this season’s terrifying new mystery.

Jamie Campbell Bower joins as Peter Ballard, a caring orderly at the psychiatric hospital. Peter is tired of all the brutality he witnesses day in and day out and will finally take a stand.

Other Stranger Things newbies

Among the other recurring roles in Season 4 is Game of Thrones alum Tom Wlaschiha as Dmitri, a Russian prison guard who befriends Hopper. Sherman Augustus (Into the Badlands) will appear at Lt. Colonel, a no-nonsense man who thinks he knows how to finally stop the evil in Hawkins for good.

Mason Dye (Bosch) will play Jason Carver. He is a rich, handsome sports star, dating the most popular girl in school. However, as a new evil threatens Hawkins, his perfect world starts crumbling.  Nikola Djuricko (Genius) appears in the role of Yuri, an unpredictable Russian smuggler. As noted by Variety, Yuri loves cold hard cash, bad jokes and crunchy peanut butter.

The highly popular Stranger Things will, of course, star all our favorite characters in Season 4. As to when the season will air, so far no set date has been announced. Back in March, David Harbour said in an Instagram Q&A that he believed it was “supposed to come out early next year.” However, he also admitted he didn’t have “authority” on that. No doubt more teasers and hints will come soon.
