It is said that fashion and history repeat themselves. As 80’s styles started to resurface, the writers of Stranger Things capitalized on that perfect opportunity. Stranger Things is jam-packed with all the favorite re-creations of the 1980s. The show perfectly takes viewers back in time. Neon fashions, scrunchies, walkmans, upbeat music, and VHS rental stores are among the fun retro throwbacks featured. Kate Bush’s “Running up that Hill” has regained traction as it climbs the charts again after its role of saving the day in Season 4. Forbes pointed out Stranger Things Season 4 was knocked off the #1 spot on Netflix’s top 10 list a few days ago after its nearly month-long reign.
It may have slipped down for now with The Umbrella Academy returning to screens, but Stranger Things fans are synchronizing their watches for Friday’s highly anticipated Volume 2. Netflix will release Stranger Things Season 4, Volume 2 in two days, on July 1. Fans are extra ready to see the reveal of who the teased Volume 2 death will be. Check out TVShowsAce for details on which character will be eliminated. Volume 1 brought in a new big bad, Vecna, and his gruesome need for power. The first part of the season revealed the monster’s identity as no other than “One”. It brought to light the origins of how Vecna began. The Hellfire Club and the extended cast took on this new villain in a real-world battle resembling a Dungeons and Dragons game.
What About Season 5?
As the finale of Season 4 wraps up with the two-episode Volume 2 release, fans are wondering if there will be a Season 5. According to Yahoo Entertainment, Season 5 of Stranger Things was announced in February 2022, but they are unsure when the show will be heading to screens again. There were production delays due to COVID-19 and the final season has not begun filming. It appears the earliest fans can expect to see the next season is late 2023. That date is fairly reasonable, especially with the known delays.
What Is Season 5 Likely To Be About?
What could the Duffer Brothers possibly have in store for the final season? In an interview with TV Line, Matt Duffer said they learn from each season. “We’ve learned a lot just working with all of our new actors and the ones that we’ve worked with for a long time over this year (during Season 4 filming) so I’m sure it’ll change a little bit from that outline”. One thing that seems likely is that the storyline will skip ahead to the future. The actors and actresses are aging faster than the characters. It seems logical to set the next season in the future to compensate for their ages and appearances. For instance, Steve is believed to be around 18 and 19 but he is played by thirty-year-old actor Joe Keery. This also leads to some suspicions that he may be the character rumored to die in Volume 2.
All Good Things Must Come to an End
Netflix’s blog shared an open letter that discussed the Duffer Brothers had envisioned the series lasting approximately 4-5 Seasons. It has been confirmed that Season 5 will be the end of Stranger Things as we know it. Fans are sad to hear that Stranger Things will come to an end. However, everyone is a buzz about the idea of a spin-off. There is talk about a potential spin-off that Ross Duffer teased will ”be different than what anyone is expecting, including Netflix.”
For now, fans can keep their giddiness for the highly anticipated two episodes of Stranger Things Season 4 that will be available on Netflix this Friday.
