‘Below Deck Med’ Fans Say Captain Sandy Backlash Is Karma?

'Below Deck Med' Fans Say Captain Sandy Backlash Is Karma?

Below Deck Mediterranean fans say the backlash against Captain Sandy Yawn and her crew is karma being served. As TV Shows Ace reported this morning, Sandy lashed out at the haters and trolls this week. She put a stop to the “nasty” comments that she and her Season 7 crew members received. Most of the comments were about Sandy, who has been the center of controversy in the past few years.

She ended up as the least-popular captain in the Below Deck series. It happened when she fired Hannah Ferrier in Season 5 of the series. The firing was the most controversial moment in the entire show’s franchise. It also left the fanbase deeply divided on the issue.

Captain Sandy Yawn calls out the ugly haters

On Tuesday, July 19, Captain Sandy Yawn called out the ugly haters on Twitter. She had a special message for all the offensive and insensitive comments she’s received. Most of them were directed at her and her family. Sandy also revealed that her Below Deck Med Season 7 crew members received more hate than usual.

“Please stop sending DMs and nasty comments to me and my crew on [Below Deck Med],” Captain Sandy tweeted. “Social media should be fun, NOT an attack on human beings. Enjoy the show. You see 43 mins one night a week from 24/7 filming. Pls show some grace. TY.”

She also revealed some of the hate she got. One troll attacked her disabled niece. Some attacked the new crew of Below Deck Meditteranean, which premiered earlier this month and received lukewarm reviews. Most of the hate seems to be about bosun Raygan Tyler, who has been caught smoking and taking breaks most of the time.

Other fans are not crazy about the new boatmance taking place on board. They claim the Below Deck Med production crew is trying to manufacture drama. However, Sandy’s tweet suggested that the hate has gotten out of control. It has less to do with criticizing the crew members and more with involving her loved ones.

Do Below Deck Med fans think it’s karma?

However, Below Deck Med fans think karma is being served. Some of them took to Sandy’s tweet to share their thoughts. While most were supportive, others feel that it’s the price that Sandy paid for being on reality TV. Their comments weren’t as empathetic.

“I DMed her to fight me back when the stuff with Hannah was going on, I don’t feel bad about it either,” one user tweeted.

“You new to reality TV and social media? That’s the price you pay for your 15 minutes and if you’re awful, better buckle up,” another promised. “Some take it way too far, but usually ppl are just expressing their opinion on what you guys are putting out there.”

“It’s what you signed up for Capt,” a third chimed in. “Make that money or not?”
