Jeopardy! fans have been closely comparing Jennings’ hosting style to Bialik’s. Some noticed that the Blossom alum made many blunders during her tenure. However, they also noticed that Jennings is making some of those mistakes. During Monday’s episode, Jennings returned from his long hiatus.

Player Erica Weiner-Amachi wrote a response that some fans thought was illegible. They called out both the show and Jennings over their inconsistent rules. Some of the fans are understandably confused and would like some clarification.

Jennings read the following clue, “Asked to design a new set for a re-staging of this 1952 play, Alberto Giacometti came up with one scraggly plaster tree.” Erica wrote down, “Waiting for Godot.” Jennings accepted her response. Jeopardy! fans recalled the controversial episode that took place last month and slammed Jennings’ decision.

Other Jeopardy! fans took to Twitter to share their frustrations. Most of them stated that they were confused by the rules as well. Others wondered why contestants can’t enter their responses with a keypad rather than write their responses by hand to lessen the confusion. Both of these incidents took place during Final Jeopardy where they have 30 seconds to handwrite their final response to win the game.

  1. i like ken and mayim no body is going to fill alexs shoes anytime soon no matter who you get.

  2. I like the idea of electronic or keypad responses eliminating the bad handwriting issue. But, then there will be issues of spelling as most people can’t spell! Then again perhaps spelling-challenged individuals use bad handwriting as a crutch!

  3. The judges make the decision, not the host. In the comparison here, the in one that was ruled incorrect, the letters were not discernible, even though it appeared she was entering the correct answer. In the one ruled correct, you could see the letters and they were identifiable as the correct letters. Mainly the last letter was unclear. In FJ if you get an answer correct phonetically, even with incorrect spelling, you get the points. In the case of the former, most of the letters were indistinct, so that is probably why they ruled against it. That’s why they have judges. To make the calls.

  4. I would rather watch Jeopardy reruns with Alex Trabek hosting than any of these “replacements”. Some things in this world are simply irreplaceable. Mr. Trebek is certainly one of them.

  5. My opinion is “it’s a game show!” Get rid of both co-host. Bring on a new face, stop the comparison crap and let us enjoy watching a game show. If Alex had retired instead of passing away none of this would be going on. Everyone will find something to complain about no matter who it is.. it’s time to add a new face and get the show going before it burns out from all this unnecessary publicity!

  6. We’re SO relieved that Ken is back! We can once again enjoy the show, and watch in comfort. Hadn’t watched for awhile because Bialik was too anxiety producing.

  7. I’m not understanding why Ken is being blamed for the judges’ ruling? I do agree that the FJ answer deemed correct by the judges looked something like “waling fr oOd~/ ?” Might as well have been talking about LOTR.

I’m just so glad Ken is back so we can relax and focus on the game, not some itchy-twitchy host.

  8. I longed for Ken’s return, but I see you have to be careful what you wish for. His style has changed. His grace and charm have been replaced with glib, unnecessary remarks. He’s talking way too fast, and he’s become irritating. I am so very disappointed.
