The Wendy Williams Show is officially over after 13 years. It’s the end of an era. Wendy Williams was the queen of pop culture topics thanks to her daytime show. Before she graced television, she was a fixture on broadcast radio.

The 57-year-old host had to step back from her show in September 2021 due to ongoing health issues. However, she teased in her interview on Good Morning America in March 2022 that she would make a return to television. Wendy didn’t share how she would reboot the show since it was canceled back in February 2022.

She only promised her fans that she would be back on television within “three months.” The time has passed and unfortunately, the show is officially over. Producers are getting ready for Sherri Shepherd’s eponymous show in Fall 2022.

Back in February, it was announced that a daytime syndicated talk show hosted by Sherri Shepherd will replace the show in its timeslot. It will make its debut on Fox Television Stations and broadcasting networks nationwide this fall. Around that time, the former The View co-host announced that she will be the host of the new talk show, Sherri.

She has been waiting for this moment for most of her life. In her statement, Sherri said that having her own talk show is a longtime dream of hers. Producers of The Wendy Williams Show noticed that her guest-hosted episodes boasted higher ratings. That was the underlying motivation for giving Sherri her own talk show.

Wendy Williams’ ongoing health battles

The reason why Wendy Williams had to step back from her show was because of her ongoing health issues. She was dealing with the effects of a breakthrough case of COVID as well as Grave’s Disease. Wendy temporarily relocated to Florida to be closer to her family. She traveled back to New York City as she claimed that she would make a return to television.

Yet, there are concerns about Wendy’s ability to hold down a show in the midst of her health struggles.
