Mayim Bialik Botches Ryan Long’s Final ‘Jeopardy!’ Match

Mayim Bialik Botches Ryan Long's Final 'Jeopardy!' Match

Mayim Bialik botched Ryan Long’s final Jeopardy! match. The actress has been behind the podium for the last five weeks. Ken Jennings is currently on hiatus and will return before the end of the season. In the meantime, fans have been watching Bialik’s hosting style closely.

They’ve been criticizing her harsher than her male counterparts. On Monday, June 6, Ryan Long’s winning streak came to an end. The Philadelphia-based rideshare driver was defeated in the last game. Jeopardy! fans blamed Bialik for making a major mistake during that same episode.

Jeopardy! host makes a blunder on Ryan Long’s final episode

Jeopardy! fans slammed host Mayim Bialik for a blunder she made in Monday’s episode. She called it a dramatic episode. However, fans were upset at her for what she said during that episode. The mistake happened within the first few minutes of the episode.

Contestant Stephanie requested the movie category. Mayim Bialik read the following clue: “It was this two-word internet sensation’s worst Christmas ever in 2014.” Then an image of a frowning cat was shown on the screen. Contestant Eric Ahasic buzzed in and said, “Who is Grumpy Cat?”

Bialik quickly responded, “That’s him!” Jeopardy! fans flocked to Twitter to slam her for making this mistake. They slammed her for not knowing much about the popular animal.

  • “Grumpy Cat was a girl!”
  • “Cannot believe Mayim got this wrong.”
  • “You’ve been on the internet too long when you yell, ‘That’s her!’ after @missmayim calls Grumpy Cat ‘he.'”
  • “However, Grumpy Cat was a girl. You said ‘that’s him’ without knowing. LOL.”

Not all of the comments were bad. One fan informed Mayim Bialik that “we can’t all be purrfect.” Fans were in shock that Ryan lost after 16 consecutive wins. Some of them claimed that he “threw the game” because he was tired during the episode. They noticed that he didn’t even buzz in for much of the clues.

Fans slam Mayim Bialik for not knowing pop culture

As TV Shows Ace previously reported, Mayim Bialik has been criticized for not knowing pop culture topics. She made another blunder during a previous episode. At the Q&A session with Ryan, she mentioned that he was a fan of Queen before Wayne’s World made it cool. Fans wanted to know what the ’90s comedy had to do with the ’70s rock band.

This wasn’t the only time she made a boo-boo. Mayim Bialik also made a mistake during the May 30th episode when contestant Steve Knapp buzzed in for the category Potpourri for $300. Bialik read the following clue, “Sadly the Heath Hen went extinct in 1932, but we still have its relative, the Prairie ‘this,’ known for its courtship displays.”

An image of a cartoon farm animal popped up. Steven said, “What is: A Prairie Grouse?” Bialik said, “No.” After no one guessed it, she said, “That’s a chicken!”

Fans on Twitter corrected her for not knowing that prairie grouses are also called prairie chickens. What are your thoughts on Mayim Bialik making all these mistakes? How do you think she’s doing on the show? Sound off below in the comment section.

  1. Not good, To opinionated. A know it all. Just because she went to college doesn’t make her world smart. She has no personality. Don’t watch when she is hosting.

    1. I favor Mayim over Ken. She is more relaxed and you always know when a Daily Double is coming up with Ken as he acts different. She just puts more in the show and is so good with the contestents.

  2. Ken is much more professional and has a better handle on the game. Bialik needs to stick to acting (she’s not that good).
