‘Days Of Our Lives’ New Episodes Not Airing, Why?

'Days Of Our Lives'

Soap opera fans have noticed that Days Of Our Lives has been missing from NBC’s daytime lineup. When will new episodes of the sudser air?

Why NBC took DOOL off schedule

Days of Our Lives fans hoping to tune in to the lives of Salem residents the last week of May and the first week of June were sadly disappointed. New episodes of the soap only aired on two out of five days.

The long-time daytime staple was pre-empted on Monday, May 30, and Thursday, June 2. Additionally, no new episode will air on Friday, June 3, either.

Why not?

The 30th was the Memorial Day holiday and NBC aired French Open matches instead, per Monsters & Critics.

Following new episodes on Tuesday and Wednesday, more tennis aired on Thursday. The network continues its French Open coverage on Friday, June 3.

When will new episodes of Days of Our Lives air?

The next new episode will air on Monday, June 6. DOOL fans can also expect pre-emptions later this summer for Wimbledon coverage.

On one of the new episodes that did air this week, Abby (Marci Miller) had a chat with Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) about having another baby. But is Chad (Billy Flynn) on board with the baby plans?

Tune in next week to see how it plays out.

More fan-favorites return to Beyond Salem spin-off

Next month, the next chapter in Beyond Salem will premiere. The Days of Our Lives spin-off airs exclusively on the Peacock streaming service.

The first chapter saw the return of DOOL alum Lisa Rinna as Billie Reed.

While Billie won’t make an appearance in the second chapter, someone close to her will. In a major casting coup, Beyond Salem nabbed both Peter Reckell (Bo) and Kristian Alfonso (Hope.)

Reckell took a step back from acting in 2018 and Bo died on-screen in Hope’s arms. Actress Kristian Alfonso famously quit DOOL in 2020 after a disagreement over her work schedule.

Deadline recently revealed more casting news for the second chapter. Eileen Davidson will return. In addition, legendary actress Loretta Devine (Adele Webber, Grey’s Anatomy) will join the spin-off.

Drake Hogestyn (John) and Deidre Hall (Marlena) will return for another season of Beyond Salem. Christopher Sean reprises his role as John’s son Paul.

Chapter two of the limited series will have 5 episodes. A new episode of Beyond Salem will drop daily on Peacock beginning Monday, July 11, and wrap up on Friday, July 15.

Peacock also carries episodes of Days of Our Lives. New episodes of the sudser are available to stream the next day after airing on NBC.

  1. Why is NBC choosing to show so many sports shows which disrupt the regular daytime shows? I know it’s all about the money. But, these are also shown on the sports channels. Not all of us are into watching sports all the time.

    1. My local NBC affiliate does not show DOOL at all anymore. I have to subscribe to Peacock to see it every day. I have been watching DOOL since the 60s. What are they showing? Some goofy news programing. There is so much of that now it’s ridiculous. I hardly watch that channel at all anymore and now this is one more hour I will not be viewing KVLY, Fargo, North Dakota.

  2. Aren’t there sports channels for these types of events? NBC seems to be the only network that does this..don’t understand why??

  3. I agree, sports programs belong on sports networks!!

I’ve watched Days of Our Lives since it began, that’s approximately 60 years!

I haven’t enjoyed the episodes involving the devil because it’s nothing to fool around with, it really happens and is an abomination!

I wish someone at NBC would realize that GOD DOES EXIST and His Judgement is forthcoming IN THE REAL WORLD AS PROMISED !!

  4. I’ve been watching days of real lives for over 15 years. If you take it off the air I’m gonna be very very disappointed. It’s the time of the day that I really look forward to just sit my hour and watch my soap. Please put it back on I’ll be very very disappointed.
