Star Wars: Visions Volume 1 is one of the most creative projects to ever come out of the franchise. The idea of taking the Star Wars sci-fi universe and handing the reigns to Japanese creators is amazing. Many of the one-shot stories told in volume one are as creative as they are intense and enthralling. With emotional storytelling and some of the best lightsaber fights you’ll ever see.

Considering Volume 1 was popular with fans and critics alike, it’s no surprise that Volume 2 now has confirmation. But what is surprising to many is one of the details about this new volume.

Star Wars: Visions Volume 2 got its official announcement at Star Wars Celebration 2022. But it’s going to be very different from Volume 1 in one key area. The idea behind Volume 1 was fairly simple. Star Wars anime. It’s that universe done by Japanese creators and animation studios. While Volume 2 will still have anime, it’s also going to have animation from around the world.

Volume 2 will be a collection of Star Wars stories and animations that expand the globe. We know right now that this will include episodes from both Japan and the US. And on top of the countries we’ve gotten Star Wars stories from in the past, there’s Chile, South Africa, India, France, The United Kingdom, and Spain. So one season of Star Wars animations from at least eight different countries and five different languages.

Many of these countries have never been able to touch the Star Wars property in the past. Obviously, this is a name that has been reaching the entire world for decades now. Regardless of what country you grew up in, you grew up with Star Wars. So for many of these nations, this is an opportunity to touch a world that many probably thought they’d never get to touch.

The Ever-Growing Disney+ Catalog

Disney+ is continuing to prove itself as a streaming competitor ready to take on anyone. Their Marvel and Star Wars original content alone is enough to drive major content to the app. And on top of that, they have huge plans to expand into even more content moving forward. It’s making the platform increasingly harder to ignore for many naysayers. And if you’re a Star Wars fan who has yet to dive into Disney+, you’re majorly missing out.

Star Wars: Visions Volume 2 is coming to Disney+ in spring 2023.
