Hunky Widower Michael Allio Joining Season 8 of ‘Bachelor In Paradise’?
Is hunky widower Michael Allio joining Season 8 of Bachelor In Paradise? Keep reading for the scoop on the latest rumor about the Bachelorette fan-favorite.
What we know so far about Season 8 of beachy spin-off
ABC confirmed in April that Bachelor In Paradise will return for Season 8. However, it will get a late start this year. Unlike prior years, BIP will air on the network’s fall schedule. Season 19 of The Bachelorette is airing this summer.
A premiere date hasn’t been set yet, but we do know that starting this fall, Monday and Tuesday nights are reserved for Bachelor In Paradise.
Despite many fans’ hope that Wells Adams would get promoted from beach bartender to host, the network went in another direction. Jesse Palmer will continue as the main host of the franchise, overseeing both The Bachelorette and Bachelor In Paradise.
Palmer will likely also host the next season of The Bachelor. ABC recently renewed its flagship show for Season 27.
With filming for Bachelor In Paradise right around the corner, rumors and speculation are heating up about the potential cast list. Whose name is in the rumor mill?
Hunky widower Michael Allio joining Bachelor In Paradise?
Michael Allio was one of the immediate fan-favorites during Season 17 of The Bachelorette. Katie Thurston and viewers formed a fast connection to the widower. His story of losing his wife and raising their son as a single father was a tear-jerker.
In fact, his popularity lead to speculation that he would be The Bachelor for Season 26. The network went with Clayton Echard instead, but fans might see Michael again soon.
Bachelor Nation blogger Reality Steve shared on his podcast that Michael Allio is among the names he’s heard for Season 8 of BIP.
What other alum names has he heard?
Other rumored cast members
Bachelor In Paradise contestants are usually chosen from the most recent seasons of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. It seems that applies to the upcoming season of BIP.
Reality Steve speculates that numerous cast-off men from Season 19 of The Bachelorette will show up on the beach, per Heavy.
Additionally, the Season 7 bromance between James Bonsall and Aaron Clancy will continue, as both are rumored to return.
Salley Carson, who sent herself home before the competition began on Season 26, is also among the new cast. Katie Thurston’s former suitor Justin Glaze is another possible beachgoer. There are rumors online that Carson and Glaze are already dating, setting up another possible Brendan Morais and Pieper James situation.
Genevieve Parisi, Serene Russell, and Teddi Wright from Clayton Echard’s season are also on the possible contestant list.
The network likely won’t confirm the official BIP cast until late summer.
In the meantime, fans can watch Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia’s joint journey for love starting on Monday, July 11, when Season 19 of The Bachelorette premieres.
