Josh Duggar’s ‘Family Has Only Enabled Him,’ Longtime Friend Claims
Josh Duggar’s longtime family friend, Bobye Holt, has issued a statement in response to his recent sentencing. Bobye and her husband, Jim Holt, have known the Duggars for years. And their daughter, Kaeleigh Holt, even courted Josh for a short time. Keep reading to see what Jim and Bobye have to say now.
During Josh’s child pornography trial, which began in November, Bobye testified about his past. Back when Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar found out Josh had molested several of his younger sisters, they went to Bobye and Jim. This was because Josh was dating Kaeleigh during that time.
So, during the trial, Bobye testified and shared the disturbing details of Josh Duggar confessing to molesting his five-year-old sister, Joy-Anna.
Now that Josh Duggar has been sentenced to 151 months (roughly 12.5 years) behind bars, Bobye has more to say.
Bobye Holt claims Josh Duggar was ‘enabled’ by his family.
In a new Instagram post, in response to Josh Duggar’s sentencing, Jim and Bobye Holt issued a statement. They shared this post on Thursday, May 26, one day after Josh learned what exactly his future holds.
Bobye was reportedly present at the sentencing hearing.
In her post, Josh Duggar’s ex-girlfriend’s mother wrote about his character and the way he makes himself look. She wrote about the disgusting crimes going on behind the scenes. She revealed that “all the while [he was] parading around like a God fearing, loving husband, father & friend, and supporter of widows.”
Then, Bobye wrote, “Because he has been trusted, privileged, coddled, protected & favoured his whole life, he’s only gotten worse.”
She continued, “I truly didn’t think even 20 years was enough when 19 hasn’t been. No telling what he would do next had he only gotten 5 years! BUT I truly feel Judge Brooks was a very fair and considerate Judge and had already considered all I listed above except the fact that some of his family has only enabled him.”
