Josh Duggar Trial: Bobye Holt Recalls He Confessed To Molesting 5-Year-Old Girl

Josh Duggar’s trial continued on Monday, December 6 after a break over the weekend. The trial first began on Tuesday, November 30. On Monday, Duggar family friend Bobye Holt testified about Josh’s molestation scandal. Read on to learn more about Josh’s trial and what got him to this point.

What we know about Josh Duggar’s trial so far

In April, Josh was arrested by the feds for receiving and possessing child pornography. He was then released on conditions, which included staying at a family friend’s home, the Rebers. He was ordered not to access the internet, be near minors, and more. Now, the trial has begun, and a lot of information has come out.

An important detail to note is that Josh’s molestation scandal can be used in the trial. For those who don’t know, Josh admitted to molesting four of his sisters and one other young girl when he was a teenager. Though he can no longer go to prison over this, his molestations can be used to prove he had a “motive” and that he didn’t have the child pornography on his devices by accident. This shows he has a history of this kind of behavior.

This is where Bobye comes in. She’s a longtime friend of the Duggars, and Josh previously courted her daughter. Bobye’s husband, Jim, was an elder at the Duggar family’s church. So, the two families were close. After Josh admitted to molesting his sisters, Jim Bob and Michelle, Josh’s parents, called Jim and Bobye over. She also says Josh confessed to her separately a couple of years later, revealing more details.

So, Bobye has a clear memory of what happened. She previously testified in an evidentiary hearing, as did Jim Bob. However, Jim Bob didn’t share many details and claimed he didn’t remember what happened when Josh confessed.

Now, the time has come and Bobye testified on Monday. According to The Sun, Bobye said, “We have been friends with the Duggars for 36 years. Our children were best friends. Our oldest was Josh’s girlfriend in November of 2002. It was formal. They were 14. On March 23, 2003, Mr. Duggar asked us to come over for an important matter. They took us to their bedroom. Josh was on the floor.”

Then, she added, “He told us so our oldest daughter would know why the relationship had to end. Josh went to a facility for troubled youth.”

Bobye cried as she shared the disgusting details of the molestations, revealing that Josh’s youngest victim was five years old. She argues that she “still loves” Josh, but “being here is miserable.”

Seemingly throwing shade at Jim Bob, Bobye added, “You don’t forget something like that. It completely impacted our families.”
