Dance expert Bruno Tonioli is leaving the judges’ table for good on one of his TV shows. Before the pandemic, Bruno helped judge both Strictly Come Dancing and Dancing With The Stars. But when COVID-19 happened and travel restrictions came into play, the Italian dancer had to choose.

In the beginning, he opted to stick with Dancing With The Stars over Strictly Come Dancing. But after several seasons, it seems like Bruno is making the decision permanent. The 66-year-old will no longer appear as a judge on Strictly. Keep reading to learn more.

Bruno Tonioli will no longer appear on the British dance competition show

The choice probably wouldn’t have happened at all, had the pandemic never happened. But Bruno Tonioli is sadly stepping away from Strictly Come Dancing for good.

“I miss it so much,” Bruno told The One Show, adding that he just couldn’t do both shows any longer. He said it became “impossible because the rules changed, getting through the airport was not like it used to be, it created a situation that was unsustainable.”

The Italian choreographer and dancer was a staple of both shows for years. His British audience members are really going to miss him. But American viewers are happy that he will be around for the foreseeable future.

“Unfortunately Dancing With The Stars has moved to Disney+, which is a big deal. Because of the travel situation, I will be there,” Bruno added.

The BBC reports that Craig Revel Horwood is the only original judge left on Strictly Come Dancing. Aton Du Beke will be Bruno Tonioli’s permanent replacement on the British show.

Dancing With The Stars moves platforms after 30 Seasons on ABC

It’s great news that Bruno will be back for DWTS Season 31 this fall, but many seasoned viewers are still a little bummed out that the show is leaving ABC. For the first time since the show first aired, it’s going to be on an entirely new platform.

This fall, viewers will have to tune into Disney+ if they want to catch DWTS. Ratings definitely started dropping after the show’s producers opted to fire Tom Bergeron and replace him with Tyra Banks. We don’t yet know who will return for Season 31, but the rumor mill suggests that Tyra Banks will not come back in the fall.

Who would you like possibly like to see host the show instead? There are many great suggestions out there, so let everyone know what you think.

Are you happy to know that Bruno Tonioli has chosen Dancing With The Stars as his permanent home? Be sure to leave your thoughts in the comments. Keep following TV Shows Ace online for the latest DWTS news. Don’t miss out on a single story!
