Jeopardy! fans unhappy without Ken Jennings

The Jeopardy! fans have spoken and they’re unhappy with Mayim Bialik. They blasted the Blossom star and claimed she was “unfit” to host the quiz show. Viewers fear that she is changing up the show. This comes after Bialik allowed a “technically incorrect” response, according to the viewers.

They’re used to how the show was run by the late Alex Trebeck. They feel that Jennings should be the permanent replacement since the one-time champ sticks to the show’s tradition. Mayim Bialik took to the podium this week. Ken Jennings is on a three-month hiatus and will return before the end of the season.

It’s likely that Jennings will take over the position of permanent host. The show will make an announcement by the end of Season 38 in July. That could be the reason why Jennings is returning by that time. If the rumors are true, he could become the permanent host of Jeopardy!

In the meantime, fans have been watching Bialik host the show. After the Friday, May 13 episode, they think she’s playing the game incorrectly. Some remarked it was “painful” to watch her this week. During a regular round, the category was about the album, Red (Taylor’s Version).

While it had nothing to do with Taylor Swift or her re-releases, it still had fans seeing red. The clue read, “Taylor Momsen played Cindy Lou Who in this 2000 film that’s probably watched in December.”

Contestant Marie Shapiro responded, “What is The Grinch?” Mayim Bialik said her answer was correct. Jeopardy! fans stormed social media to share their thoughts. They think Bialik’s changing up the rules of the show.

Mayim Bialik made a big boo-boo?

Fans are appalled by Mayim Bialik’s decision. They don’t understand why she “gave” that contestant the $400 question despite her “vague” answer. Especially after a contestant’s costly mistake earlier this week. They think Bialik should’ve asked Shapiro to “be more specific” with the title of the live-action holiday movie.

“Um, it’s definitely Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas. #jeopardy y’all wrong,” one fan noted.

Others couldn’t believe Bialik accepted a partial answer. Some are boycotting the show while others are begging Jennings to come back. If the rumors are true, their wish could come true. They just have to wait a few months to find out.

  1. I prefer Jennings and can tell he has worked hard to become the best host since he originally appeared soon after Alex died. Since he improved his diction and become seemingly more relaxed, he has become the perfect host who appears to have the natural talent for hosting the show. I can also see Mayim Bialik has put in some work to be what the viewers will appreciate and what the show needs, but she is still trying to put her MARK on her PERFORMANCES. She ironed out the distractive, scraggly hair. Only once a week now does she wear an outfit that hurts the view’s eyes and distracts from her mission. She is not as overly exuberant as she once was. Except she still sounds like a ticker tape parade is going to follow once a daily double is found. Every time she says, “There’s a daily double!!!” I shake my head and say to myself, “This is not The Price is Right, MB”. She also gives the press too much information while she is out there trying to sell herself for the job. We did not need to know the long, drawn-out process for when correction is needed after a questionable answer is given by a contestant. Her words from that interview make me wonder how long it took the producers to decide if the “Grinch” answer was correct. Or maybe the producers let the “Grinch” go because they have to stop too often during her hosting times. Viewers need the game to flow and not to wonder about behind the scenes. I noticed this past week that the players were not making it through the entire boards as often as usual. Not sure if that was the player’s or the host’s problem, but further watching will tell. I am a female. If a male does the best job and he wants to do it, for heaven’s sake, give him the job. Note: Jennings stays quiet so we cannot be sure he really wants a full time gig. Working every Saturday for 46 weeks does not sound like a lot until you realize there is prep time and it’s difficult to figure out family schedules when most Saturdays are already in play.

  2. A show about knowledge….and MB apparently missed all her lessons on how to use the objective case….is, am, are, was, were, will be, shall be, have been, has been NEVER take the objective case…i.e. me, him, her, them
    “that’s HE” not “that’s HIM”
Test yourself….He is that. Not, him is that. UGH

  3. Ken Jennings should be permanent host! I’m not repeating all the reasons that he should be. It is so hard to watch the show if he is not the host. Many people will not watch, if you don’t make that decision soon. Like many, i’ve Been watching as long as the show has been on the air. Please don’t Disappoint your Viewers.

  4. I AM ONE THAT WILL NOT WATCH JEOPARDY IF THEY LET KEN JENNING GO;,I DO NOT LIKE WOMEN FOR SOME REASON I WOULD RATHER HAVE A MALE HOST ALEX SPOI;ED US.

  5. nnings should be the host. I can’t stand Mayim Bialik. I remember the rumors that she was a diva on Big Bang who’s costars couldn’t wait to be rid of and who can forget the shaming she did of sexual assualt victims? Basically, she said she’s never been assaulted in Hollywood because “dresses modestly.” She basically implied that a woman who dresses sexy was asking for it. She’s also a freak who breastfed her kid until practically kindergarten. I’m all for breastfeeding for the women who can do so healthily but once your kid has teeth, can walk and talk it seems incestuous. Oh, and she’s a total sellout who uses her neurobiology degree to hawk unproven vitamins. Bye, Amy Farrah Fowler. Go give Sheldon a ride to the train store.

  6. Won’t watch when MB guest hosts- will totally quit if that’s permanent host! She’s
    H O R R I B L E !!!!!!

  7. I like her much better than Ken Jennings. He spends all the time talking about the winners and what happens if they win another one. I find him annoying. She’s great,a natural at hosting the show and much easier to listen to.

  8. Ken Jennings should be the permanent host of jeopardy
She is not mentally equipped to do this a terrible presence on the show its all about her not the constant

  9. Mayim Bialik is my favorite. I never miss Jeopardy, and she has been my favorite ever since she started I really hope she becomes the permanent host. I’ve watched this show as long as it’s been on, and it’s one of my favorite shows.

  10. I happen to like my Mayim Bialek. People just do not like change and that’s the biggest part of the problem.

  11. Alex would not be happy with the
    Controversy about his successor.
Ken is a natural and is respectful of the players. Very “Alex like”. Unlike
MB, who naturally has the “better than you” persona. She is smart but seems to need to show it.

  12. I stopped watching the show and will resume when Ken Jennings returns. I do not like the present host.

  13. Mayim is snarky, arrogant, makes too many faces, doesn’t listen to answers carefully and she is so smug. She has a sing-song way of talking and her voice is irritating. if Ken doesn’t want to come back or if they don’t want him back they should find another man or woman who understands the game, understands what viewers want and is respectful supportive of the contestants but not so much she lets them get credit for half answers. She postures as she is the smartest person on the stage or maybe smartest in the world. I am glad Matt Amodio and Mattea Roach didn’t have to endure Mayim.

  14. My wife and I are long-time Jeopardy fans and it goes without saying that we deeply miss Alex. Having said that Mayim Bialik has got to go. She has completely ruined the experience for us – she lacks personality, she somehow thinks the show is about her and not the contestants, she tries way to hard – she is just really hard to watch. Please allow Ken Jennings or even Joe Buck (we like him too) to be the permanent host and return Jeopardy to what it was when Alex Trebek was the host. While it cannot be said enough that no one can replace Alex, Mayim is not the answer. I have nothing against her, I just don’t think she is the person for the job.

  15. Ken’s an expert in the show’s subject matter, and it makes him quicker, more confident, and more consistent in his rulings, better at adding context and clarity when needed, and more natural at assessing and commenting on game status. He should get the job.

  16. Ken Jennings is so far superior a host! He has the voice not the sing song voice Mayim has! He is in command of the program! She falters and then laughs! Keep Ken out the door for Mayim!
